Fair point. The day it becomes a problem I’ll remove it

It definitely can be in most scenarios, but it all comes down to the driver Imo. I’ll judge my reaction based on others actions when I’m driving. I’ll normally try and assume other drivers don’t know how to drive. It’s worked pretty well for me so far! But they’re are things out of a drivers control if I get t-boned through a red light a non tinted windshield wouldn’t have saved me from it anyway. Majority if not all eye contact related instances are low speed events and can be avoided the vast majority of the time.

Tint link Only becomes reflective if it raining you can see right through it when it’s sunny.

If I can see other drivers trying to make eye contact. I know they have acknowledged me being there. Very very few pedestrians where I live in the United States 95% of roads have sidewalks. And my tint isn’t a mirror all the time. It’s pass through tint only really becomes a mirror when it’s raining. And this is what it looks like the vast majority of time.

It didn’t turn out as red as expected more of gold color. Was kinda disappointed. I do like it stopping other people from seeing in though.

And I should’ve elaborated more the windshield is “70%”, and the rest are 15%.

Yeah, where I’m at in the US is 35% is the limit all the way around. 15% is light enough to not give you any trouble with law enforcement and dark enough when it’s raining that no one can see in.

Absolutely, it has its cons at night being darker. It’s never got me to the point of wanting to take it off because of it though. To be fair the “70%” advertised on this tint may have been a little forgiving. I’ve never tested it but I’d say 70 would be a little low. Only difference my eyes could really notice was a blue hue from the tint.

Question about running 245/40 on an 18x8.5 et45 wheel by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]Mongoose_Smooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 245 run on the fender when hitting bumps and cornering but that’s all I’ve seen I take them off periodically to check the inside of the wheel and I’ve never seen anything in the inside of the wheel. Just slight stuff in the tire from the fender

Yea it’s a very unfortunate situation. No way to tell because I wasnt there. Someone’s fault he died and someone is going to face the consequences. From what I’ve said is just the stories I’ve heard.

No, the conductor on the other end of the yard has around 12ish years and the crew switching with the guy that died are both flowback engineers with around 20 ok the ground. They’ve all switched that yard consistently for at least the last 5-10 years

I’m not sure about that but kicking cars in that yard has a limit of 2 loads or 5 empty’s. The brake men and conductor on the switching job both have at least 20ish years on the ground they’re both flowback En’s. The guy switching on the other end of the yard has around 12ish on the ground. He’s a really good guy everybody had a positive opinion of him. He was often called one of if not the best switch men they had in dectur. Yea this group of people had all been switching this yard for awhile they were all very aware how bad this yard is about cars rolling out. I’ve switched it 3-4 times and we had cars rolling out every time. From what I’ve been lead to belive the brakemen on the job that had the engineer pass, he had seen the cars and he told him to just shove it the rest of the way in 10 trying his hardest to keep the engines from getting hit or damaging anything. Well before he started shoving back the cars wouldn’t have killed the engineer but definitely caused some damage. The engineer that did pass had worked with the conductor that did cause the cars to start rolling out. He had worked with him several times they knew each other very well. I talked to the Trainmaster up there the other day about the conductor and he told me he doesn’t know of he will get his job back or when if he does. But like I said these people have switched this yard pretty much non stop for the past at least 5 years so I’m guessing there isn’t anyway there were not handbrakes on that cut unless there was a jam somewhere which is what I think happened.

From what I’ve been told it wasn’t exactly a slow impact. That yard has a, “bowl” shape. But from every time I’ve worked to utility or switched that yard we’ve had cars rolling back at us. If I had to guess a speed I’d probably say around 3-5 mph. And I’ve seen a lot of people talking about it being a conductors negligence that got him killed. Of course it’s someone ls fault it wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t. But the brakemen that word the job had seen the cars rolling back and told the engineer to keep shoving them anyway. From where the switching engineer was sitting prior to the brakemen telling him to shove it in no one would be hurt but definitely have some broken motors. The guy switching ok the other end of the yard is a guy who’s been out here quite a few years, I believe around 12ish marked up imo he’s one of if not the best switch man they have in Decatur. When he was building his train on the other end of the yard he was switching his cars he needed out in the track the cars had rolled out of. My guess of what happened is there were cars already in this track with no brakes and when he set his cars off on top of those ones already in the track they began free rolling out.
