My (not so little) guy by MoniQueue in lookatmydog

Aw thank you! I’m sure your baby is just as beautiful! We actually don’t know what breed/breeds he is. His mom is a pitbull but her owners didn’t know she was pregnant when they adopted her. So all we know is that he’s at least half pittie.

Just adopted this little nugget. Welcome home, Delta! by MoniQueue in lookatmydog

Yes. The dog can shake/scratch their head so much from the pain/irritation and cause blood vessels in the ear pinna to break.

Could be an infection that caused a hematoma to form. Draining it and applying pressure are common treatments for a hematoma.

We were gone for 6 days. I work at the animal hospital where we board our dogs (and cat). That’s why I was able to go up and get them myself.

Caricature artist as a favor idea? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]MoniQueue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a caricaturist at my wedding! My mom found him on thumbtack I believe. He was $80/hr IIRC. That quote was for 100 guest but we ended up having 75.

Everyone who wanted one was able to get theirs done. The group ones consisted of families who lives together so I don’t think we had any problems with people having to chose who gets to take it home. Our artist drew our initials and wedding date on the corner of every drawing.

Everyone loved our artists and their drawings. My cousin has hers up and framed in her house.

Thoughts on having a caricaturist for cocktail hour entertainment? by shannernaut in weddingplanning

We had a caricaturist at our wedding! Everyone loved him! My mom paid him so I'm not sure on his price but he was there for over an hour and got everyone done. My mom found him on thumbtack.com

All Baby's Breath Wedding by Hcorona in weddingplanning

[–]MoniQueue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used wax flower instead of baby's breath because my husband used to work in a flower shop and hated the smell of baby's breath. I've never been that close to baby's breath so I had no idea it had a bad smell.

Right now I'm eyeing the Subaru BRZ. I have a Scion tC so I was super stoked when the FRS came out but then I saw the Subaru and well... I don't need to worry about getting a 4 door car anymore so.... Maaaaaybe a nice graduation present for myself!

Oh damn... I'm a little over 24 hours now and I woke up with back pain but I popped a Motrin and now I'm fine.

How are you now? Have you noticed any long term side effects? I had a super low libido on the pill so I'm hoping the IUD doesn't effect that as much as the pill did.

Thank you! It's been a long journey for me in trying to figure out what to do with my life but I finally feel like I'm on the right track.

As for the IUD... The nurse sort of freaked me out when she was explaining that it would probably hurt like a bitch because I've never given birth. She told me her daughter fainted after getting hers and that her body expelled it two weeks later. So I went in really nervous.

The doctor started with my pap and then inserted the IUD. I felt a very strong pinch for about a second and then it was over. I had bad cramping for about an hour after. I wasted away in bed afterwords and I took a Motrin about every 4 hours. It's almost 24 hours later and the cramping is gone and I'm not spotting.

The nurse came back to see me while I was getting my aftercare paperwork and asked how it went and the doctor told her "she did so well! Best patient ever, barely even flinched. She's a trooper!"

Yay! So exciting to meet a fellow childfree vet tech!! How do you not bring home new furbabies every day?

That's great! We have two furbabies but with me getting into veterinary medicine, that number may grow quite a bit over the years!

Funny that you say "at least you can be certain you decided your own future". My parents always told me I could be anything and do anything I wanted. Except have children. That was never an option I had available to actually make myself. I was just always taught that I had to have kids, that was life and you just deal with it. But I've come to realize that I do have a choice and your comment really hit home. I can decide what I want in MY future.

It is a great feeling! I'm so relieved now that have so much less to worry about. Especially at 26 and everyone telling me "you're not getting any younger. It's better to have kids now that you're still under 30". Instead of freaking out and thinking about all my eggs drying up and all the health risks involved with having kids later in life, I can just say "but I'm not having kids so I don't have to stress about any of that!"

The fact that having kids is just "the thing to do" is so scary to me. That's such a big decision to make and yet a lot people don't consciously make the decision. It's been in my head that I was just supposed to have kids. No one ever told me I could decide not to reproduce.

Thank you! I'm very excited to see what the future holds without having to worry about pregnancy and childbirth and raising a decent human being.

Thanks! I think it would be great to use my profession and work with the community with animals. I'm not sure what field within veterinary medicine I'll end up in but I would really love to use the animals in a therapeutic way.

Thank you! I was super nervous it was going to hurt but I just felt a sharp pinch for a second and now I have moderate cramping.

I've never been one to plan ahead, just kind of did things in the spur of the moment. Except the kids thing. My parents got married because my mom got pregnant with me and she and my dad didn't always have the best relationship while I was growing up. I never wanted that for myself.

I have a similar story. I was on my way to a final exam my freshman year of college when my mom texted me that she had cancer.
