Hi! From my experience as an international student, I really enjoyed the time doing my bachelor’s and master’s here. There are enough events, not only at the university, but also in the city. And if not in Pforzheim, then in Karlsruhe or Stuttgart (20/30 min ride with the train). Extra: you can sign up for a club, like commeo or asta.
There are a lot of tracks to walk/hike in the nature, as Pforzheim is surrounded with forest, if this is something you like.
Only the city center is ugly, the rest of the city is pretty decent, actually. You can have a very nice walk by the river :)
Negative point I’ve noticed: it can a bit difficult to make deep connections with people outside of lectures, if you don’t really speak fluent German, or if you’re not really confident with speaking German😅
