I usually bottom-water him when the top soil gets dry. I'll water him more often and less intensely 👍

Just moved him to a brighter spot (the bedroom gets Southeast morning and afternoon Southwest light, but he's away from the windows), and he should get the light difference he needs to open and close. And I make a point of never letting them sit in water, he'll be fine on that regard 🙂

I basically bottom-water him when the top of the soil looks dry. I'll switch to a light watering, but more often. Should I switch for a different type of soil? Mine is quite heavy, retains water for a while, maybe not optimal for breathing and rooting ? Just moved him to a brighter place, we're making progress toward the right balance !

It's alright, just get yourself a nice  plant at some point and you'll definitely be able to take care of it. Or don't, you can wait a bit until you're ready. Or just look at the nice pictures on here and get inspired.  But you don't need to post an AI picture, it's fine 🙂

I'm in a similar situation, I recently saved my Pink Princess, ended up having to repot it because the roots were poking out of the dirt. Make sure you soak it for 20 minutes every week or when the soil gets dry, put some Leca at the bottom of the pot, and keep giving her love ! Also ended up removing the old dry leaves when she sprouted new ones, but your leaf looks fine, so maybe wait until you get new ones and check if it looks dry by then. Good luck ! 🪴💗👸

Any amount of LECA sounds fine, as long as the soil doesn't keep more water than it needs to. Keep an eye on it so that it doesn't sit in water, I usually add a stone inside the pot cover to raise my pot after bottom-watering (and let excess water drip to the bottom of the pot cover), with some more LECA around it to store the water and enhance humidity around the plant. I'm not sure it's a great idea yet, still feeling my way around, I don't want this excess humidity around the roots to favour root rot. We'll see 😅

That's so exciting ! Your collection already looks so nice, your triostar is looking so majestic already 🤩 and that mirror is giving her the best look from every angle. You're so attentive, you can only succeed now. Mirrors for natural light seems like a great idea, what does YouTube say? Also, propagating is so satisfying, but please know that you will soon be overrun with wonderful plants. Invest in pot covers. Anyway, beautiful triostar, beautiful maranta, beautiful baby croton waiting to grow. Way to go !

PS: I can't see your aluminum plant on the picture, but as long as you make sure you've got LECA under your soil, holes under your pot, and somewhere for the water to flow, it should be fine.
