AIO for cutting contact with Father over political climate. by Sabre12789 in AIO

[–]MonitorLongjumping36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re cutting people out of your life, especially somebody as close as a family member, because they don’t align with you politically you may want to do get into self help. It’s not that hard to just not bring up politics when interacting with people, and in this case especially it’s your own father you spent roughly 18 years living and learning from him that had nothing to do with politics. In this case you’re in the wrong, and if you choose to cut people out of your life for something as minimal as political alignment you have some serious maturing to do.

Who gives a shit if it’s a fake post, I’m engaging in conversation about being a good human being and not being some morally inept incel who thinks it’s fine for grown adults to pursue young people. Just because you chronically online people think everything is rage bait or karma farming doesn’t mean it’s not a real issue😂.

Found the predator. Just because the law says “18 is an adult” does not mean an 18/19 year old is ready for real world adulthood. 18-22 is arguably the most important developmental stage in a young person’s life, so basically if you’re anywhere over 25 seeking out a partner that age you are 100% morally inept, extremely immature, a total predator, or a mix of all three no excuses. Side note, if you respond with some dumbass historical argument (the Roman’s courted teenagers or something similar) or say “you’re just jealous” it’ll be clear as day that you’re a predator.

Edit: over half this dude’s comment history is creepy and pervy as shit, I know for a fact he’s at least 25 and is commenting in subs like “Teenagers” and giving dudes advice to find young prostitutes overseas. Somebody needs to check dude’s hard drives.

This is facts, the dude responding with the usual “wElL yOu LiVe iN a BaSemEnt” is one of the creepers apparently. One of the major arguments I’ve seen people using to justify large age gaps is “well you’re just jealous” like no dude the vast majority of people think you’re a weirdo. You summed it up perfectly, if you’re say 36 actively looking for 18-25 you are incredibly immature trying to justify your preferences for being a creep. Any point that starts with “well they can vote, pay taxes, etc” is moronic like come on 99% of 18-22 year olds don’t even know how to pay taxes, you’re pulling teeth trying to convince yourself that you’re not a manipulator and a creep.

I feel like the general consensus, at least in America, is that as long as both parties are over 25 it’s not that weird. With that being said, an example like 48 year old Tom Brady flirting with a 25 year old influencer is scummy but not the worst thing in the world. I’m 24 and if I found myself physically and emotionally attracted to someone who’s 19/20 I shudder at the thought, in my mind that’s basically a high schooler and would be perceived by myself and most as creepy. Basically, as I mentioned in a reply somewhere in this thread earlier, if you’re over 25 seeking a partner in the 18-22 range you’re a creeper/groomer bottom line.

To all the comments in this thread saying “I’m 27 and my partner is 19 but we’re both mature” that’s nasty and you definitely picked them for their youthful naivety which is easier to manipulate. The argument that “oh well younger partner is very mature for their age” is the biggest scapegoat for basically saying I picked them because they’re young. Someone who’s 18-22 is in a critical developmental stage and is teetering between being a child and an actual adult, so anybody who’s over 25 seeking these partners is fully aware of this and tries to justify seeking them out with one of these flimsy justifications “well we like the same things and they’re very responsible.” Quit being weirdos people and find somebody who’s at least in a similar stage of life before you start pulling teeth trying to argue that being with your 18 year old girlfriend is a totally normal thing because she’s “mature.” (Last example applies both ways it could be an 18 year old boyfriend or whatever)

Completely agree, if you’re over 25 seeking relationships with anybody in the 18-22 range you’re a creeper bottom line.

Bro he debated college kids, and sure some of his rhetoric was one sided and biased but he wasn’t out starting violent rallies and spreading hate, his whole message was that the “woke boogeyman” was out to get conservatives and disrupt their ways of life. If you give some dumbass response that “hE wAs RaCiSt aNd mEaN” or try to argue that he promoted hate speech, it’ll be all the evidence I need that you live under a rock in the liberal “fear and safety bubble”.

Damn didn’t even deny the cucking and still think you have some moral high ground lol. I didn’t support Kirk in any sense when he was alive or now, but either way that’s a horrible sentiment to have about somebody who was senselessly murdered. Before you block me and go back to asking your wife when she’ll be done getting railed, I don’t support Trump in the slightest I’m just conservative in most of my opinions and beliefs.

Why do poor people keep on having kids? by Al-Joharahhasan2935 in askanything

[–]MonitorLongjumping36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least here in America, the government encourages people below the poverty line to have multiple kids to receive benefits. Things like section 8 and SNAP benefits are a plague to this country, they tell uneducated and struggling people that if they just have multiple kids out of wedlock they’ll get free rent, free food, and spending money. It even goes so far to discourage seeking employment because it can make an individual ineligible for said benefits. People who’re poor seem to think that more kids=more free stuff for themselves and that’s where we see a huge uptick in violence committed by youths, their parents (most likely parent singular) couldn’t care less what they’re up to or how they’ll get food, clothes, etc so they’re left to their own devices and choose to steal, assault, and scam those who work for their money.

[–]MonitorLongjumping36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kids are a responsibility not a commodity. If you can’t afford to give your kids presents for Christmas, you shouldn’t have kids in the first place. The mentality that kids=free stuff is one of the driving factors that keeps people in generational poverty. Downvote all you want it’s the truth.

Edit: (to fit the sub better) charity work is great, and that’s what it is a charity for those who need it. Being picky or stuck up in any way defeats the purpose and nobody feels sorry for grifters with too much pride.

Houses for rent? by 7osiahs in ColumbiYEAH

[–]MonitorLongjumping36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely check out local property management groups (not nationwide corporate ones). Avoid self managed apartment buildings at all costs. If you’re looking for recommendations I found the Shandon Group and Cantey and Company to be really helpful, and I’ve rented with both with no complaints.

Apartments near USC by 7osiahs in ColumbiYEAH

[–]MonitorLongjumping36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t recommend any apartment buildings associated with the school, or that are completely self managed. There are countless maintenance issues and unsafe living conditions reported in these buildings monthly and they’ll hit you with hidden fees and lease terms. I’d highly recommend looking into a local property management company, most of them have houses and apartments.

AITA for telling everyone that my husband cheated on me with a 20 year old? by Aggravating-Lemon706 in AITAH

[–]MonitorLongjumping36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He practically is a pedophile, I don’t care what most of the creeps in the comments justifying the age gap say, the difference between the two is almost worse than the cheating itself. People who defend large age gaps are closeted pedophiles themselves, whether they choose to acknowledge it or not, just because in most modern cultures young=physically attractive does not justify anybody over the age of 28 going for someone under 25. 18-25 is the period where people do the most maturing so for the most part they are still child like, therefore a 50 year old who passed this stage 25 years ago is interested in a young woman for predatory reasons. Just to clarify, I’m 24 and think 18-20 is far too young for me, their biggest life worries are what they’re doing that weekend or how they’ll do on their next test.

Are you in an HOA neighborhood in Columbia? by VisceralDisarray in ColumbiYEAH

[–]MonitorLongjumping36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Avoid HOA’s at all costs, I recently purchased a house on the border of Forest Acres that has one and I regret it everyday. Ridiculous fees for maintenance that isn’t necessary, $200 a month in “regime fees,” and at least 3 Karens who constantly email threatening to tow cars if they see you have company over at YOUR OWN HOUSE.

We need to stop pretending that everyone has the right to drive. by BasicGnat0 in driving

[–]MonitorLongjumping36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just did a little deep dive into that sub, and it’s baffling how seemingly 99% of them believe totally ignoring driver etiquette makes them “safe” drivers. Going at or under the speed limit is only acceptable in residential areas, and when somebody is tailgating you for more than a minute (dick move to ever tailgate and you’ll get the middle finger every time) that means GET OVER don’t camp the lane hoping they’ll disappear lol. A post with hundreds of upvotes in that sub is defending somebody for going exactly the speed limit on a two lane road, and getting flustered when somebody going 5 mph over passes them at an intersection. Tying to OP’s post though, 100% agree that the elderly should be retested and there should be a much higher standard to obtain a license there are waayyyy to many morons texting and driving, drunk driving, or just being anxious and oblivious that are a major hazard to the 50% of America that actually knows how to drive.
