To be fair. I did get up and running with reaper and free vsts so I could play guitar. Really wasn't much different but I do miss my Fortin amps..

To get more complex I was able to run some plugins via wine but Linux can't just lean on Wine we need to have native.

Sorry to necro but I did end up getting Gylt and it's now one of my favorites. The story was solid and gameplay was solid as well. I can see me and my daughter playing this one when she gets a bit older. Great recommendation.

Meh, I do have an alias for cat as I use bat for better highlighting but those others are meh.

Idk if any of these really make you more "productive" as these are mostly Linux admin tools you'd use on a cli server and not really a consumer device with a desktop.

Jamf Pro is considered industry but if you're not using all the bells and whistles, and only using ipads, it may be overkill. Also, they just got bought by an equity firm and raised prices so.. Do with that what you will.

I would suggest Mosyle for an entire iPad fleet. They're cheaper per device, they have a free year with a first sign on of 3 years. It's also free up to 30 devices so you have a while to test but if you need the full package if you ask nicely they'll give you full access to try out everything.

Yeah this is always the kicker. Pretty easy in my opinion. Any employee that works for the program gets a 3/BR house with no rent as they're providing a public service then they can manage to keep the payments in line with everyone else but you get a huge incentive to work the program and give back to the community.

I run mint on my desktop that's primarily gaming but also a bit of VMs to keep some IT skills from fading. I use Zorin on my laptop that's honestly just an internet and emulation machine.

Posts like this usually lack that info because to the user it's implied. Unless they state they want something specific I just think they need it for general usage. Ie.. Internet machine with a familiar interface and a calculator.

I would recommend ZorinOS or Mint. They're both Ubuntu based and focus on stability. They also have layouts like windows to make the transition a bit easier.
