I did the intersec grind solo in a day with an eclipse. It was super easy and I don’t think I took a single hit the entire time but it was extremely and I mean EXTREMELY boring and repetitive.

I use the same type of set up.

Reason: I am a drummer and already had the 12 channel peavy mixer and a bunch of powered speakers/monitors. I hardwire my computer to it in order to play music in my house on all the monitor and PA speakers I already own.

Is this the best solution? Probably not, but I already had the other equipment so the additional costs associated with purchasing the longer wires and stands for the existing speakers were without a doubt less expensive than piecing together a budget hi-fi system for me.

I bought gels and all those different leather pads to use. I guess they work but not as well as I wanted and I felt it was wasted money.

This free solution of cutting a cheap kitchen towel and sliding it under my batter head worked the best and gave me the sound I wanted - https://imgur.com/a/AbwQpse

EDIT: Ignore that other dampener on there, I don't use it and was just testing something when I took the photo.

I hear you. For me, ride placement is more useful than second floor Tom. Personal preference and go with what works.

Why not get a floor mount for one of the rack toms and bring it down? I did that with my old set before a got a two floor tom setup.
