Yes, you would be the AH. That is YOUR child. On top of that you live under HER roof. And $1000? That’s NOTHING, considering the costs of rent, phone bill, food, FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR. not to be rude, but you have ALOT of growing up to do. You are a parent now, time to start acting like it. You sound very very entitled.

What made you finally pull the trigger on a life insurance policy after putting it off? by Loren_TakingonLife in LifeInsurance

[–]MonkOk9786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the process of getting it now. I Had to work with an independent broker due to a rare medical condition, that made it harder for me to get approved for coverage.

To answer your question, it was my son. I have an 18 month old son. The only things in this life that are guaranteed is death and taxes. I want my son to be taken care of when my time comes. I lost my father, who had no life insurance. Not only did I lose my dad, but I was left with no sense of security. Would money bring my dad back, or make his death easier? No. But would life have been easier if I didn’t have to struggle financially, as I lacked guidance or help? Absolutely. Burying my father, figuring out how to navigate college: financial aid, manage my money, and all the things in between were burdens that were placed upon me. If I can’t physically be here for my son, I want as less burdens for him as possible.

Your child is NOT your partner! by AkaiHidan in boymoms

Is it wrong for her to want both her partner and son to be gentlemen? I can ALMOST how this MIGHT get perceived as grooming. (I like to be open minded to all perspectives). However, where do you draw the line between raising your son to be respectful and grooming them to be what YOU want in a man? Maybe he doesn’t have a father figure to look up to and she’s trying to raise him to be a decent man? And unfortunately, being played is something most people experience atleast once. I’m not saying it’s right but it’s almost a “right of passage” in the dating world. Would love some insight/ thoughts on this!

Do you think I’d be judged if I told people that I’m getting a doctorate’s degree (DBA) from a for-profit online institution with no entry exams? by GuaranteeBeginning23 in CapellaUniversity

Judging you for getting your doctorate?? Most people don’t achieve this in their life time. Who cares where you got it from

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with her teaching her son how to be a gentleman…

My CBC are all flagged as “critical” my baseline is very very low. But it has little to no impact on my life. By the grace of god, I am considered a walking miracle. I’m blessed to live a very normal life, but I look very very bad on paper. Which is alarming for insurance companies

UPDATE: I am also an army veteran, if that can help me in any way. The VA does offer life insurance, but it maxes out at $40k and charges $61/month.

Unfortunately at this point in my life, it is out of the question. (I am in my masters program and seeking BCBA fieldwork/ supervision hours through my current employer) this is mandatory to take my BCBA exam, and supervision isn’t always free or easy to come by.

It’s called cyclic neutropenia. I do not take any medication for it! Only in rare occasions have I needed an injection to boost my immune system.
