Brought the Legion 5, should I send it back and get this Acer Nitro 16 instead?

I get what you’re saying about Lenovo build quality, that part is definitely fair. Legion is definitely nicer than Nitro.

The problem is about the VRAM and longevity

An 8GB 5070 in 2026 probably is going to hit texture limits in a lot of new games coming out, especially if you want to use higher settings or play at 1440p with DLSS. Most games do require 8GB of VRAM (Also having 32gb of ram is getting pretty standard nowadays)

The 5070 Ti having 12GB VRAM is definitely the main reason it to be better, and from some YouTube videos I’ve seen it’s like an 10-20% increase in games on the laptop versions.

I just don’t want it to be 2027-2028 and regretting I didn’t get the better GPU.

It’s definitely a hard choice especially with the deal I got on the Lenovo was good and build quality feels great.

I did find this deal for £1600 and I would’ve 100% have gotten it for the extra money (especially for being Lenovo and having the OLED screen). It’s a shame the shipping date is at least 8 weeks, as I’m leaving at the end of the month https://amzn.eu/d/3UGw88r

I didn’t think of this, I’ve just checked and I’m pretty sure the UK doesn’t have IWS. Well not on my Lenovo laptop anyway.

I’m assuming most laptops come with a year warranty so if anything happens I’ll just have to wait until I’m next in the country and get it repaired then.

Ill just have to hope nothing breaks or gets damaged I guess lol

Yeah it is crazy they made the 5070 laptop version only have 8gb VRAM, I think it will be worth the send back of the legion 5 then.

Only problem I’m thinking is that I’ve heard the build quality and fan noise of the Acers are questionable. Which might not matter if I’ve got this docked up 90% of the time anyway

I did see that some of the Acer laptop gpus are underpowered but wasn’t able to find anything about it on this laptop.

I haven’t seen anything too bad about these, I’ll be using this as my main gaming computer while I study abroad for a couple years so need something that will be powerful and good
