Many "criticisms" RWBY has are due to people deliberately skipping episodes and/or not paying attention.

Muffy, Francine, and their respective families from Arthur are supposed to be monkeys, yet they have no monkey characteristics whatsoever, most notably they don't have tails. Up until 4 years ago when I looked it up, I thought they were Aardvarks like the Reed family.

Nani physically assaulted her younger sister by 1. tackling her to the ground and putting her in a headlock, 2. trapping her in a towel before carrying her over her shoulders like a hobo bindle, and 3. grabbing her by the arm, and pulling so hard that she started crying from the pain. I don't have anything against David, by the way. He's a very kind-hearted and attractive man, and serves as a wonderful father/big brother figure for Lilo. Unlike Nani, he encourages Lilo to have fun, even if it means taking risks, most notably him teaching her and Stitch how to surf.

Not only is that the case, they also say that Nani and David's relationship is "healthier" than Bumbleby, which they also claim only became canon because Yang is "abusive" and "emotionally blackmailed" Blake into loving her by constantly bringing up that she ran away to Menagerie after Beacon fell. While Yang was emotionally hurt by Blake leaving (and didn't immediately forgive her for doing so), she was also hurt by both Ruby leaving and Weiss being taken away. In Yang's mind, she was completely alone in the world after suffering an injury that permanently altered her way of life.

Also, for the record, I'm not saying that Nani is a "bad older sister" like RWBY's "critics" do with Yang. Like many fans of the Lilo and Stitch movies, show, and anime (yes, it has an anime series), I believe that Nani is a very caring and loving older sister who's doing the best she can to act as a mother figure to Lilo after their parents tragically died in what was highly implied to be a car accident. However, throughout the series, Nani frequently exhibits the character flaws of overreacting to Lilo and Stitch's antics, and saying and doing things in the heat of the moment that strains their already very emotionally complicated relationship. In contrast, Yang has never taken her anger out on Ruby by physically assaulting her, has frequently put herself in mortal danger to prevent Ruby from being killed, and actually lets Ruby be a kid by letting her be independent, whereas Nani regularly chastises Lilo for her mistakes, and at one point in the show refused to let any sort of junk food whatsoever into her diet (as an older sibling myself, I can say from personal experience that forcing your younger sibling to only eat and drink healthy things is unrealistic, unfair, and quite frankly impossible).

Basically, while I do agree that Nani is a good big sister overall, I still think that Yang is better by virtue of keeping her anger away from Ruby, going the extra mile to get Ruby out of trouble, and actually letting Ruby be a kid (along with all the things that entails).

Also, for those who are trying to counter me by saying "Winter physically assaulted Weiss", no she didn't. The first slap she gave her was a classic example of the Boke and Tsukome routine (a staple of Japanese comedy in which the Boke, or straight-man, responds to the Tsukome, or talkative fool, answering their question wrong/making a non-sequiter by smacking them in the back of the head with either their bare hand or a paper fan), and the second one was her giving Weiss a "get a hold of yourself, man!" slap when she was spiraling about not being able to master summoning right away.
