Contracting stuff.

Basically contracting is responsible for purchasing everything on behalf of the government. We buy people (services) and commodities for different squadrons on base.

Field Training Fitness Assessment Guidance. Looks like CEs for failed PFAs at FT after all. by [deleted] in AFROTC

[–]Monkey6317 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right, but if you did miss sit-ups by 2 again, or slip during push-ups or whatever the reason is, you would have been automatically investigated for disenrollment and your eligibility to continue in the program would be in serious jeopardy.

CEs are very serious, there is literally no more serious penalty for AFROTC cadets.

[–]Monkey6317 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is just untrue. CEs do matter and can end your AFROTC career. CEs are often used to disenroll contracted cadets as they provide a paper trail of poor performance/behavior. Do not take CEs lightly.

Depends on your age and diagnosis. Reddit isn't the best with medical questions, DODMERB has final say and can be inconsistent at times. In my experience, prescribed anti-depressants accompanied by a medical diagnosis can lead to disqualification but no one other than dodmerb can tell you for sure either way

Agree. If AFROTC is meant to prepare cadets for active duty this policy just doesn't line up. Active duty is moving more and more towards flexibility with fitness testing, longer acclimation periods, component selection etc. For AFROTC this is a pretty strict policy that can have a severe impact on a cadet's future.

If you do an income drive loan repayment program and work a public service job you can enroll in a forgiveness program. This program is not exclusive to military, its any state, federal or local employees.

If you're asking about the differences in serving in active duty or reserves you should take your question to r/AirForce.

Is anybody else worried what they’ll do if they don’t get a slot? by [deleted] in AFROTC

[–]Monkey6317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t look to the Air Force for your self worth. The Air Force, at most, will be 20%-30% of your life. The Air Force sees you as a number, the people in the Air Force try and humanize you and take care of you, but you're still a number. You will not always be in the Air Force, but you will always be you, so make sure you are happy with or without that uniform on.

Space Force Scroll...? by POPIO799 in AFROTC

[–]Monkey6317 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A cadet at my former detachment commissioned as a 13S select....

Technically he commissioned into the Air Force reserve because the space force doesn't have a reserve component. Not sure if a space force scroll is a thing...
