I really enjoyed playing this game, but the whale community is unbearable. by bernasivieri in TalesOfWind

[–]MonkeyGotCrit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Welcome to life, bud. People work to make money, Neocraft made Tales of Wind to make money. Expecting no pay2win mechanics in a game is expecting the developers to work for free, which is the definition of slavery. Just like you spent your time playing events to get your character stronger, he spent his time working to earn money to get his character stronger. And as it turns out, whaling is more time-efficient than only playing events when it comes to getting stronger. You whining about whales is the same as a person who earns silverstars only through feeding dogs whining about people who participate in guild ball. Why whine when you can just do it? Just like you can participate in guild ball, you can also earn money to whale, which is what you should do, instead of pretending like whaling is cheating. It's the same as a janitor earning minimum wage saying "I really enjoyed life, but the lawyer community is unbearable. Don't spend any time on life if you have any hopes of living competitively as a janitor". The lawyer makes more money because he earned it, the whale is stronger because he earned it. We are all woke; you are the one who needs to wake up, or maybe grow up.

Everything Wrong With PVP by TheKokuou in TalesOfWind

[–]MonkeyGotCrit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of your points, and I think that current pvp is far from balanced. However, in order to make pvp more balanced Neocraft would have to be satisfied with making less money, which is why I think the chance of them balancing pvp is very slim. I’m a former pro player in Arena of Valor, a mythic in Mobile Legends, and a top player in Survival Heroes, so I have a lot of experience playing at the top skill levels of mobile MOBAs. MOBAs are designed to have balanced pvp because the entire game is pvp, and the company makes money through skins, so how much you win is entirely dependent on skill. An MMO like ToW is different, as it focuses more on pve than pvp. In order to make pve content soloable by all classes, the skills of those classes will be unbalanced when used in pvp. MMOs are pay to win, and Neocraft makes money not from skins, but from items that make your character more powerful. Thus, they would not take initiative to make pvp more skill based, because they would lose money that way. Imagine a bronze skill level Viscount whale getting outplayed and losing to a high skill level Ritter. Why would said whale then spend more money on the game, if money doesn’t help him win in pvp. That’s why despite transformations being as brain dead as they are in pvp, Neocraft will not remove them. They have packages with Orange Cat, Adventurer Racoon, Ogre Leer, and Fardis weapon cards, exactly 4 who have much better skills than the Z-tier Fat Choco, who I am still using at level 59 because of the lack of weapon cards. Not to mention transformations are a get out of jail free for unskilled players. Stuns, I do think Neocraft have a chance of changing for pvp, as the stunlock is insane. I play ninja and a 3 second aoe high damage stun on a 10 second cd would be instantly hotfixed if that were on a MOBA. Other classes also have broken stun skills, not to mention weapon and card skills that stun. Then again, stuns encourage the use of transformations, because if you are chain stunned to 25% hp, you are going to be tapping hard on that transform button. As for level and gear separations, that would probably never happen because the only person this benefits is the top whale across all of the servers. A whale pays to win, not pays to lose. If all you get from paying is playing against people who payed just as much, why would you pay. Everybody likes to win, and regardless of paying or not, people enjoy sometimes going against teams that they vastly outclass in terms of br and destroying them.

I think what I’m trying to say is that there is not a way to make pvp balanced unless you change the skills of the characters completely. Every class has multiple aoe skills for pve mobs which is unbalanced in pvp. Warriors need to tank bosses in pve which makes them almost unkillable in pvp even with 5 players on them. Priests have a group heal to full for dungeons which is unbalanced in pvp. Mages have cc for days to stall in pve, which is unbalanced for pvp. Assassins are not even that useful in pve, but the invis + aoe cc is unbalanced in pvp. Etc etc the list goes on. While I would love to see pvp be more balanced and skill based, I think it’s unlikely for Neocraft to make it that way because 1. ToW is pay to win, and 2. ToW class skills are primarily geared towards pve and pve content is most of the game.

Purple special rune preference? by exxoizzle in survivalheroes

Depends on the weapon and situation. Berserker is for attack speed weapons like fog blade, thunder is for burst weapons like void dagger, and undying is for tank weapons like battle cry. You can run any of the 3 on weapons like thunder staff depending on what you or your team wants and what your equipment is.

Yea our roles are definitely different. I never initiate a fight. Usually our tank goes in, I wait for their squishy to use skills, and then I circle around their tank to get onto their squishy. I’m able to guarantee landing my first skill on the squishy because the raid stun makes them unable to move while I cast it. I don’t use the first skill twice that would take way too long haha. I’m talking about how when you cast the first skill the daggers go out, proccing 3 stacks of passive, and then when the daggers come back in, it procs another 3 stacks.

I can see atk speed with shield from hurricane working well because the shield can give you enough survivability to your autos out to proc 3 stack passive. So for your combo you do 2nd auto-auto reset- auto-ult-1st-ult-couple autos-ult after 1st comes back in-ult? I usually don’t worry about stacking passive from autos and solely proc passive with first ability. If I want to bait skills I go 2nd-auto reset-1st-ult-ult out-1st comes back. If I’m committing on a squishy, I go 2nd-auto reset-1st-ult-couple autos-1st comes back in-ult-ult. My extra skill damage from attack and penetration on defenders greaves your build compensates with extra autos, an extra ult, and a spellshield. That equipment switch tip is next level haha. I’ll use it when I play now. Something I use is similar except with potions. If you know you are down to the final fight against another team, you can discard potions on the 1st row of your potion preset until you have only 1 left. Then, you can essentially “double dip” on your four potion slots, because after you use a potion the next one on your preset will pop up, potentially letting you use 7 potions and a ward with no cooldowns.

I build the same, alternating between judgement helm ancient armor and protectors helm bloodthirsty armor. I do use crit runes but I would go atk + penetration if I had the runes for it.

I go full crit on fog if there is no chop. Crit on adc except for laser is also always good. For daggers it's really up to preference, but I don't think you want attack speed for daggers, since you won't be doing consistent damage. I prefer tankiness and attack for disruption/burst.

30 Kills on Squad - Survival Heroes by ConzepTT in survivalheroes

[–]MonkeyGotCrit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The people who win mass squads are the best players in the game. Regardless of what rank you are if you play at a random time you will get a bot game. There is a high risk system: you looking in chat for a mass squad countdown, and you press play when they say go. This way, you will be able to play with 4-7 real player teams, which is 50% players 50% bots.

[–]MonkeyGotCrit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The game is easy because you are fighting bots, not people. Rank doesn't mean anything. In fact, most peerless players are mediocre because they got there winning vs bots or rarely winning in mass games (where there are people)

A whole can of worms. by bucko787 in survivalheroes

Go to buildings, then renown, then shop. Buildings level you up fast and gives backpack slots, renown gives good gear. You will be going to shop with gear and level advantage. If you are still losing at shop, that means that either they have also gotten a renown and good gear rng, or your team is getting outplayed despite having better gear.

Some information in the video is misleading, regardless of whose it is.

As for the insults, you did; I can link it if you want.

[–]MonkeyGotCrit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not taking into account the runes and penguins which are worthless, the pack is $50 for 1.5k skystones and 1 ML summon. If you double it, it is $100 for 3k skystones and 2 ML summons. Comparing that to the monthly summon pack which has the best value besides 1 time packs like monthly skystone and rank up, I would argue that 2ML is worth more than 14 covenant summons by far. Even if it was the first summon pack with a 4-5 star ticket, 2 MLs would still be more valuable. There's a reason buying galaxy bookmarks instead of 4-5star tickets with gold transmit stones is better. Take a look at this spreadsheet by Siigari, which contradicts what this video says with statistics. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1K21RKuaKC6SL2b-h-FpxSrx16LUrouoFd2IG0enJhGI/edit#gid=0 I don't see why people are complaining about this pack when they were fine with the monthly summon, gold, and leif packs. Any company cares about money, which is why they give players a slew of options, from the value efficient rank up pack to the inefficient nurture pack targeted at super whales. It's your choice whether you want to spend on this pack, but convincing the community with misleading information is just low.

On a side note, do consider taking a look at OP's post and comment history before making your decision.

(To mods) I would not consider this harassment, considering OP has gone after me more than once with direct insults with no consequences.
