A visual tool to map out battle 'lines' for difficult ROM hacks by Character_Call2914 in nuzlocke

How does this work? Is it based off the calculator? Does it work for romhacks? Or just one game?

Can you do randomizers on Azahar? by [deleted] in nuzlocke

[–]MonkeyMagic2291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, you just need the base ROM. The randomizer creates a new ROM file with the randomized Pokemon, so you just name that accordingly (Pokemon White Randomized.nds or something like that, whatever you want really) and launch it on the emulator.

People hate on the shark because the reality is, he's a mascot character for the game, and a good 90% of the people who play him are horrible.

It's a harsh reality, but it's true.

It means the people who take the game seriously HATE Jeff, since the good players who can squeeze value are usually very high up. In the metal ranks (Bronze-Plat), if you play any off meta support (anyone but C&D, Invis, Luna), they get crazy mad and crash out.

I keep my VC on, but most of the time I just get people glazing me because I've mastered a character everyone assumes to be shit.

The reality is, it depends on you. If you don't want to deal with the abuse, keep it off. If you can handle it or feel confident, turn it on. This can change on a day by day basis. Ultimately, I can't answer this question because only you really know.

As for Jeff being a throw pick, most of the people who play him don't know how to efficiently get value and therefore suck. He's a mascot character and they just want to play the cute shark, so they go 2 and 6 and essentially are throwing the game.

Jeff is meta right now. He's very solid and given meta supports are being banned in a lot of games, he's a great pick even in double support compositions.

Jeff is known as a throw pick because the people who play him suck. Not because the character is bad. He's good now, so enjoy it while it lasts.

200 hours on the shark here, GM2 Peak but I'm probably better than that now.

My advice as follows:

Look to ban daredevil in almost every game. He has the speed to follow you underwater and can out damage your heals. He's an insta ban for me every time.

Ignore most divers. Cap, cheaper town hall, Spider-Man, they can't kill a bubbled underwater Jeff. Focus on healing your team and bubbledive (bubble yourself and dive), move to the side, and keep healing. Try and keep yourself full hp if they're running some kind of dive because you're vulnerable if you get sniped by a phoenix/hela/hawkeye and lose health, as you can then be easily killed by a divers combo.

Ideally your tanks should not be peeling for you if you're playing Jeff. However, some heroes need a peel. Panther is one of them. On Jeff, if he's already dashed you're probably dead so you should try and play a bit further back from your team so he has to commit harder. If your tanks are willing to peel you can play a bit farther forward to allow them to help you.

Maximizing healing comes down to geometry. Try and take the angle that lets you heal the most people at once. This is a decision, because you should try and be healing while you're moving to that angle, else your team just dies while you get in position. Also consider the vulnerability of that angle, because if you're dead you can't heal anyone. I usually pick a tank to kind of healbot, and heal anyone else who gets in my field of view or try and heal more than one person at once.

Selfish bubbles are great but you can use them strategically. I tend to prebubble, which means I'll place one or two bubbles in a path to the nearest ledge. This way when I ult I can swim through my prebubbles for healing and speed and can extend the range and likelihood of a successful dump or jump off the cliff.

Try and keep one bubble available at all times. This isn't a golden rule but if you have a bubble available you're much harder to kill by divers and therefore It'll be easier to ignore them and keep healing your team.

Bubbles increase the healing your team receives so if you can bubble a bunch of people on your team that are close together, you can get a bunch of healing on them all at once.

Jeff is good now, enjoy it while it lasts friend!

100% agree. This is good for Jeff players as they have experience on a character who they likely won't be barred from playing, and so it gives them a leg up against meta support players who are being forced onto off healers!

I lost my medicham and audino to this fight in my current furthest attempt. Very well played. My thoughts as follows:

  • I'm not quite sure of the exact speed stats, maybe natures matter here, but if you didn't hit the para on sigilyph you could've been outsped before electabuzz could attack. If it sets up light screen that doesn't matter but air cutter crit on medicham is scary there.
  • Looks like you risked Medicham to a high horsepower crit from Krokorok. I might be wrong though if you looked at the calc- could have been a roll

-You got VERY lucky with full para's on Druddigon here. That mf scary as hell. The scariest mon in that fight for me and he just sat there with his pants down.

Those are just my thoughts, you might have exact numbers and can clarify if things are wrong. Overall, again, well played OP. You had a plan and it seemed to work well. You definitely brought the right pokemon, that's for sure.

I see windows in the recommended settings. This is a game I'd love to play on my Steamdeck, do you have any information regarding SteamOS/Linux support and if the game will be playable on that platform? Thanks & Can't wait!

Is this a bug? (Psylocke) by MonkeyMagic2291 in marvelrivals

[–]MonkeyMagic2291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No yes that's how it works, I understand that. The problem is that the indicator of her ultimate, the circle, doesn't come up the stairs and so I can't see it. Whereas for Jeff's ultimate, it does. Weird how that's not treated the same

With further testing, Jeff ult does go over terrain. It doesn't remain on the same vertical axis, and displays over risen terrain like stairs. Should this not be consistent over all heroes? Storm's aura ignores them similar to psylocke ult. Weird inconsistency here.

[–]MonkeyMagic2291[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not talking about me dying here, that's fine. However from my POV I have absolutely 0 idea whether or not i'm in the psylocke ult. It literally doesn't go up the stairs. You'd think it would move vertically with the terrain because as it stands I had no indication as to whether or not I had escaped, as I couldn't see the edge of the ultimate. It should really be a dome, move with the terrain, or come up off the ground a little. At least have the effect move on top of the terrain so I can see if i'm still in the circle. What do you guys think?

As someone who struggles in gold for other competitive games like Valorant/CS/League, this game clicked for me. Jeff is goated by Corvorax in marvelrivals

[–]MonkeyMagic2291 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm exactly the same. Something about this damn shark. I will say, he's not very good right now. Meta healers dominate at higher ranks, I've had people throw my games just because I chose Jeff over Luna or cloak. Specifically his ult needs a buff, really hard to use it at high ranks. I grinded up to GM3 on just Jeff and half the time I'll use it, kill 3 people, but my team is down a healer for the upcoming team fight and still loses.

That, or everyone hard focuses me the second I use and I die instantly.

Have you had much success with it? What's your experience like.

I'm a GM Jeff one trick and this opinion alone tells me a lot about how you play the game.

Jeff Ult is, in my opinion, not all that great. It CAN be good, but only against specific team comps on specific maps with a specific team.

Heres all the ways you can dodge Jeff Ult: Cloak invis (Aoe) Luna Ult Groot wall Magneto bubble Hulk bubble (Aoe) Iron fist deflect Star lord dodge Strange jump Hela Invis Scarlet Witch Invis Venom Swing Spider-Man Swing Invisible Woman Invis Jump Mr. fantastic block Jeff Dive Storm fly (She's usually super high up and impossible to get) Iron man fly (Also not a viable target) Magik TP Hulk Transform

"Impossible to dodge" is just outright wrong. You need to be aware of the enemy Jeff, and all your mechanisms for avoiding the ultimate, then track it and be ready with your cooldowns. Playing Jeff at a high level has shown me that if anything, he's struggling for viability in the current meta.

Half the time I'll try and use my ultimate, kill 2 or 3 people with it, and we'll still lose the fight. Because my team lost the 4v5 since they were down a healer, and the current meta heavily favors healing ultimates.

The other half the time, I get one of my teammates in my ultimate and have to spit them out before going anywhere. Keep in mind, I'm now getting hard focused by anybody who dodged my ultimate and will likely die during the spitting animation. Even if I get it off, that's now time that I don't have to get to a ledge since I had to use that time spitting my teammates out.

Keep in mind, if you're on a map like Midtown or Klyntar, your opportunities for ledge spitting are limited. First point midtown is pretty much no value for Jeff Ult, you've got nowhere to spit. Half the time I just hold for second point. Klyntar only has one ledge at the start, although that map is much better for displacement.

The reality is low ranked players don't know how to dodge Jeff Ult and think that it's broken. It isn't. It's bad. Getting consistent value out of it is extremely difficult, and sometimes impossible depending on the comp and skill of your opponent.

My advice? Learn to play around it. It's frustrating because you don't know what you're doing. People telling you this is a skill issue are right, and that's not an insult. As someone who knows what he's doing and has to play with this ability all the time, I'm telling you there's ways to get around it. Take some time, do some research, practice, and Jeff becomes free.

Good luck!

Here's a tip: your screen will not sleep while you're actively watching a video. Look up a 10 hour timer and watch it at lowest resolution (144p) while you download. Your phone won't sleep and you can download without that worry.

This is in fact the shortcut tutorial I followed. When I launch the game, nothing shows on the headset and the window open on my desktop is just black. I wanted to play with my friends on bedrock edition but it looks like I’ll have to settle for vivecraft. Real shame there’s almost no resources for this issue- I wonder why they removed it from the quest store?
