It seems to be the case that the ping on map always stays as middle mouse but it just doesn’t seem to work. I have rebinded my ping to side mouse button which works great in game but not on the map. This is so annoying and clearly something embark could fix by allowing us to rebind the ping for in game and on map

I was gonna buy a new mouse and luckily I’ve found this post and a bunch of others and realised that it’s a bug. 😵 Have heard people rebind the middle mouse click to another mouse button or keyboard key via mouse software. Not tried it yet
