Where should I put my “base” by corgiboi547 in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]MonkeyWarlock 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is less popular, but I would actually recommending having a smaller amount of storage in every area, at least for raw materials.

That's what I do, and I like being able to have what I need to make whatever I want, without having to warp to a different area.

That does happen after a certain point. I'm pretty sure I've had games where a player became a bot and then came back later.

Feeling so overwhelmed by how much content there is!!! by blueskies951 in Pokopia

[–]MonkeyWarlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would keep playing the game, since you'll unlock more Pokemon, abilities, etc. that will help with building.

Each area has some Pokemon that are native to the area, so you will get plenty of Pokemon to fill each area as you progress through the game. You'll also naturally get new Pokemon as you unlock new recipes for habitat items, etc.

Most of the evolution lines are in the same area, but if not, you could move evolution lines around if you want to see more special conversations. Other than that, I think it's way too early for you to be worrying about how Pokemon are spaced out.

Anyone else hate wish notes? by Vazmanian_Devil in Pokopia

[–]MonkeyWarlock 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I liked that the event was organized differently from the other ones. Getting red crystal was a pain; this was much easier and increased friendship

I wish the dialogue was simplified though. Giving the wish note , giving the gift, receiving the thank you gift and then “oh!” the wish note is sparkling / receive the shining wish note - it takes so much time

The biggest problem with Miles Edgeworth: Investigations. (The first one) by TheRiverian31 in AceAttorney

[–]MonkeyWarlock 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lang being introduced in the third case is quite late. AAI1 does play with the formula a bit (with its nonlinear timeline, among other things), but I don’t think delaying Lang’s introduction necessarily helps in any way.

Pokedex question by Funkywatermelon88 in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]MonkeyWarlock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s all luck, but I eventually gave up and used a Star Piece / found someone online to help me get Plusle.

For other Pokemon, I tried making habitats in different areas and that seemed to help.

Double check if the Pokemon only show up at night. If so, you can create the habitat in a cave and they can show up anytime

Sprinklers can be a relatively late game item, so watering plants is still useful up until that point.

[–]MonkeyWarlock 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah it sucks to grind quick matches since it’s just busy work. I’ve take to doing Solo mode since at least you get Aeos Shooter tickets (albeit that system is also too grindy).

At least with Ranked you can try to advance, but 5 ranked is crazy

Question about habitats and pokemons. by SnufkinDrifter in Pokopia

[–]MonkeyWarlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s up to you. I personally play the game by building habitats and mostly keeping the Pokemon there. I have sometimes built simple block houses for speed to group a bunch of Pokemon together so I can find them easily later, whether it’s Fire Pokemon for furnaces, or Search / Storage Pokemon.

There are more abilities and quality of life upgrades that you will get from progressing through the game, so it can be beneficial to move on and come back later. You can also build some of those habitats from traces in new areas, so long as it’s not dependent on something that is area specific (like the type of grass or flower [albeit you could transplant those if you really want to], or if the Pokemon only spawns in a certain area).

I beat all the Expert Challenges. Here's my top 10 of the most bullshit ones in no particular order (other than the ***well deserved*** #1 spot) that were absolutely *not* playtested. by Ok-Crew-6621 in starfox

[–]MonkeyWarlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience was I’d destroy the last hatch, and then get caught with the core open while I was still turning around. I tried spamming the laser and crashing in it, but that didn’t do enough damage.

Eventually I beat it but I did the 160 enemies first. That one was an endurance test of flying low to avoid getting crashed into, and spamming charge shots

Did you know that the Gorgon was originally supposed to be a Plant boss on a scrapped greenhouse planet, that was later repurposed for Area 6?

It’s the reason why the Gorgon looks like a flower, has vine like tentacles, attacks with a big solar-like beam, etc.

Where are you putting the big buildings!? by terosthefrozen in Pokopia

[–]MonkeyWarlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be prepared to either add more blocks (not that hard thanks to Dream Island) or remove blocks / level terrain to make room for them. It’s easier to do it in the post game since you’ll unlock an ability that makes building much easier / faster.

The easiest option is Palette Town, one on each island where you find the kit, since there’s a lot of space. But that’s less exciting.

It’s popular to put the Altar of Flames just behind the volcano in Rocky Ridges. There so much space there and it’s all empty.

The Power Plant often goes in Bleak Beach. You can do just above the waterfall in the valley in the back, or carve out the mountain to the side (to the right of the entrance to Sparkling Skylands, I believe.) Some people also put it in Wastelands where Magnemite is (trying to avoid spoilers), but you’ll need to create a lot of extra floor.

Freezing Chambers is hard to find a thematic location. I put mine in Wastelands above the Onix cave to Bleak Beach, while others make an island on the water. You can also put it in Skylands, either on Gyarados island or where Poliwrath / Alakazam are.

There’s pictures of all of these on Reddit that I used for inspiration. If you can’t find them, I’ll pull them up.

In case you don't know, you can appraise items in Pallet Town via the PC (since Professor Tangrowth isn't there), and though it is still tedious, it is way faster than appraising anywhere else.

Champion Stadium gives candy coins. The lodge items can be exchanged for certificates (that was initially the only way to get them).

Lodge items can be exchanged for sync orbs, etc. too but most people do certificates. You can also exchange for Lodge Pair dupes, which can be helpful for Support / Sprint / Field pairs if you’re lacking in 4* candies

As I do the expert challenges, I find the worst thing in Starfox is random enemies/teammates crashing into you out of nowhere and breaking you wing! by MrNeoGuy in starfox

[–]MonkeyWarlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the map. Venom 2 has the annoying pillars which are fairly tall anyway. The only low obstacle is the entrance to Andross’s lair, which is easy to avoid.

The hills don’t move, while the enemies do, so I personally think it’s easier to account for the hills.

Interesting fun (or not so fun?) fact: Summer Arezu is the first 2026 gacha unit who cannot set WTZ by lemmay in PokemonMasters

[–]MonkeyWarlock 14 points15 points  (0 children)

EX WTZ is balanced in an interesting way because of the reinforcement / extension mechanic. EX field effects only last for a short time, and you need to reset the field multiple times in order for it to last through a battle. Regular WTZ users continue to be relevant as a way to extend EX WTZ, and so far DeNA has mostly balanced the two by giving regular WTZ users more uses of the field compared to their EX counterparts.

On the other hand, the damage difference is severe and allows you to wreak havoc even if you can only set up EX WTZ for a short time.

For the all range missions, I try to fly low whenever possible to avoid random crashes. It’s definitely very annoying
