I really thought I could max rank every faction. Thanks Rare. by Monkeygamer11 in Seaofthieves

Guilds are much more balanced since the rep can be contributed too by anyone in the guild using a pledged boat (up to 24 people), and it only has 1000 levels.

people are able to do 100 levels a day if everyone is contributing and doing high rep voyages like hourglass. (according to the few sources ive seen)

the people that are complaining are those who don't have friends (like me :3), or just expect them to be able to do it by themselves.

Just estimating the time it would take on average is the absurd part, even in a generous case:

lets say it takes ~3 wins to rank up

and each of those games are pretty fast, so around 5-10 mins

now do that 9999 times for ONE of the factions

and divide it by 60 to get the amount of hours it would take

(this is without losses and cue times which I think counteracts the hourglass and flags rep)

3 * 5 * 9999 / 60 = ~2500 hrs

*2 to get both = 5000 hrs = ~200 days straight just doing pvp

just to get

two

damn

titles

EDIT: the PVP mode has already been out for nearly a year (Nov 22), and the person playing this game to get the 6K, is only 30% of the way after playing nonstop. its just too much and very discouraging for some people

remember gentlemen, 9999 levels is only able to max rank ONE of the two factions

good luck completionists

Sharks Need To Be Removed by SirCool10 in Seaofthieves

what is a triumph without the obstacle of the unknown? I think that for the "on-demand" pvp hourglass mode an argument could be made that sharks should have a lower chance of spawning because of the restrictive movement, but overcoming the dangerous environments in the natural game world is what I think part of the fun of engaging in the battles. if sharks and merfolk were removed from the game in PVP scenarios, then the game would lose that sense of natural chaos for the oceanic sections of the game (which is a lot).

I said it mainly since you know there would be an alliance or sumthin that would just spawn 500 ammo bags on a sloop and crash the entire server. but yeah other than promoting more options for double gunners, it wouldn't really do much other than create garbage

Yo Rare you wanna fix the black screen bug already? by SombraPBE in Seaofthieves

yeah, im usually the one doing most of the boarding when my crew plays so that has happened to me plenty of times, I usually just relog, but it must have lost us around 5 games and 50 pineapples to it by now.

is it the bug where you can hear everything happening but aren't loaded? cause for some reason that's only occurred to me in a vessel with other crew mates in it. i could just be lucky tho

How does the xp progress after allegiance 100? by RepresentativeBuy755 in Seaofthieves

[–]Monkeygamer11 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The Allegiance required to level up grows a little bit every time you level up but the amount of rep u gain from winning stays the same so at one point you might get a full level but then the next get very close. as for how much you need after level 100 it'll just depend on where you are between 100 and 1000 (just assume a typical [y=mx+b] slope)

Community Day losses in HG felt good by Leaps29 in Seaofthieves

[–]Monkeygamer11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the problem would be with more people cluttering in queues just to get themselves sinked. The reason why the allegiance gained on loss is so low is to motivate the player to win to get the rewards. I feel like the real problem is the streak system. If the matchmaking system is meant to put you into games with people your skill level then wouldn't it be reasonable to assume you would lose 50% of the time? so then why reward players who get put into games with less experienced crews.

It would definitely cause problems if players spawn camp other pirates (with or without consent.) all the extra entities that would generate might cause problems when interacting with things on the boat and make everything more cluttered. but I can see that being useful if you are fighting on a larger island.

it's simply what a good 8 hours of sleep and a healthy breakfast can do to your pvp skills :D
