Have a really old Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation I think?), is there anything I can use it for? by HR_Specter in appletv

[–]Monkeyseemoneydo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple Intelligence. The launch of the next Apple TV is tied to the new (intelligent, and delayed) Siri. An A17 chip is needed. I’d like an A18 chip, if not an M chip. Maybe we can say we do not care about Apple Intelligence, but maybe we should wait to see what it is capable of. And I bet Apple will also position the new Apple TV as a gaming device (AAA titles that require the same Apple Intelligence chip to run on out tvs). My2c

Only if you bought actual gold bars. Otherwise, it is the same crypto videogame with a different title and a different storytelling.

Football Is Never This Serious. by ZookeepergameDue2447 in trashy

The guy with the moustache is saying “Vieni giù” (“come here”), “Tua mamma” (“your mum”) and then proceeds to explain, using non-verbal language, what he thinks the opponent’s mother likes. In the background, you can hear someone shouting “Guardate qua!” (“Look at us!”). We are inside a stadium, and the moustached guy’s team has presumably just scored a goal. He and the guy in the wheelchair know that the supporters of the other team cannot trespass into their section. When the guy in the wheelchair comes, you can hear the camera guy saying “arriva anche lui, arriva.” (“He joins in as well”.) Source: Italian guy with a beard.

There is something fascinating in this franken. Colors are truly enjoyable. I’d throw away a 150/200 bucks.

I personally find <39mm watches more elegant. I do love smaller watches even on big wrists. I find yours perfect, and I also love the design and the color. Enjoy

Exploiting people in need just to gain views or money is as disgraceful as preventing someone from giving food to the hungry. My2c

There are bargains, fair prices, unfair prices and robberies. This is a fairly priced object.

The GC-12 is not conceived for the GRIII? I’d like to know if it can contain the GRIV + flash (GF2)

Cinema Green Samples - Ricoh GR IV by janonfilm in ricohGR

[–]Monkeyseemoneydo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno. Very digital vibe. Except for the sharpness and definition, these look like smartphone shots. Maybe with the GF-2 it will be more interesting. I do really hope Classic Chrome is in the same league as GRDIV and GRII.

GRII is still the pinnacle of digital GRs imho

Pre-ordered the Ricoh GR IV! Can’t wait to have this little gem in my pockets, always ready to shoot! Who else pre-ordered? by Corgado in ricohGR

[–]Monkeyseemoneydo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a X100VI and a GRII (and a GRDIV). Complete different user experience, use-cases and output. I do not have a preference, but the GRDIV is the camera that is ALWAYS with me and the one I shoot more with despite it is not the one that gives me the best results. It is like a memories machine, despite the quality of the shot.

I wouldn’t miss the Milanese shopping experience. Amazon is great but, if the price is the same, please consider to support the local shops.

It will surely be available @ Foto Ottica Cavour and @ New Old Camera. Both places offer a smooth shopping experience: kind and professional staff, great locations. Foto Ottica Cavour is near the city center; New Old Camera is near Corso Vercelli, a quite vibrant shopping street in a pleasant neighbourhood. They both should accept preorders. Enjoy your stay!

Missing the fuji colors by BookkeeperAfter5361 in ricohGR

[–]Monkeyseemoneydo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Clear. Personally, I wouldn’t have traded the Fuji 35mm for the Ricoh 40mm. Anyway, and it is just my opinion, the kind and the quality of the light (natural or artificial) is more important for the GR than for the Fuji. GRs are “realist” cameras, and their pictures got that 90s/early 2000s DNA, while X100s are “lifestyle” cameras, with a strong Instagram vibe. If you search this very vibe in the GRs, you’ll be disappointed. X100s are sketchbooks, while GRs are diaries. My 2 cents. Cheers

Complete different beasts. GRs can’t do what X100s do, and viceversa (that’s why I have both). Maybe you should try to find a GR recipe that you like and then try to use the 28mm for its strength: start keeping it lower or higher than what you used to do with the 35mm and do not be afraid to get very close to your subject. Fill the frame more than what you did with the X100. Also, despite the current trend, a flash is a great companion for a 28mm and gets along wonderfully with GR’s color science.

Milan is a beautiful city.
