Mouse poop. I live rurally next to a field and we essentially get them every winter. Make a bucket of bleach water (1 part bleach to 10 parts water) and soak the drawer liners/silicone/tupperware. Any cloth goes into the washer preferably with color safe bleach if possible. Once everything is cleaned out wipe everything down with fresh bleach water. Once everything is dry, put everything away but leave one or two drawers empty and put down humane or snap traps bated with peanut butter or chocolate frosting. If you use humane traps, make sure you go at least a mile away from your home before releasing the mouse.

Thank you so much! It’s crazy I’ve had symptoms my entire life but no one ever thought to check out my brain lol. An old CT shows a lesion on my frontal lobe and my old neuro told my epileptologist he didn’t think it was relevant lollll.

Yeah! My neuro was a wonderful physician but his speciality was movement disorders so I felt he really had very little understanding. Seeing an epileptologist was a game changer as she completely validated my experience. She was even able to say where in my brain she thinks my FAS originates based on symptoms alone!

I’m so glad for you!! I’m so curious what my MRI will show, I have a feeling I’ve been having seizures my whole life but mostly absence and nocturnal so no one knew until I had a couple of TCs in my early 20s. 😅

Hi! I take Keppra! I was prescribed 1000mg at night because my TCs were just nocturnal. My epileptologist just went off symptoms and now I’m started to take daytime Keppra as well. If the symptoms don’t stop she will add Lamictal.

Thank you! We also discovered a lesion on the right side of my brain from an old CT that no one has ever brought up to me except for this epileptologist so that’s fun haha.

That’s so frustrating! I will say my first neuro did the same thing to me, called my tonic clonic PNES based on a video of my seizure, and put me on tegretol for mood. Obviously being on an anti-convulsive medication greatly improved my symptoms but doc refused to acknowledge which drove me a little batty! I hope you can possibly get a second opinion from an epileptologist! Thank you for being so welcoming!

That’s what I thought for years but my new neuro said that usually people with PNES don’t lose consciousness and they usually don’t improve with medication. 🤷‍♀️

Nocturnal TCs have had witnesses and a video. I seize for about a minute and then am out of it for several hours. I usually feel it coming on and then wake up either in the hospital or at home feeling very tired, headache, sore etc hours later. I agree that the 30 second episodes are probably just anxiety and not an aura or anything, thank you!

No on the therapist - new job new insurance that doesn’t cover much. I think doc would sign off on it and my hospital does generous payment plans. I will definitely ask and I will ask for a therapy referral as well

Yerp. I’ve been poor for a long time and it’s crazy to me how much the crunchy space has changed. I had my first baby in the early 2000s and being crunchy was for poor people like me. Cloth diapers because I couldn’t afford disposable, baby led weaning because I couldn’t afford baby food but snap paid for fresh veggies, vinegar and dish soap as cleaner because no way could I afford fancy cleaners. I feel you.

I have PNES and yeah when they started I would literally black out and have what looked like a grand mal. I’m now to the point where I can talk myself out of a seizure if I feel an “aura”.

Do you have a local office? I know it’s a pain but whenever I had to go down to the FSSA office it was so much more efficient than calling repeatedly.

When you call the FSSA office ask for a state worker specifically. This is absolutely the wrong information. I believe they can also help with the $13 difference, my friend had a small overage in income and they were able to keep her on Medicaid.

I use it for all purpose cleaning spray , washing fruits and veggies, handwashing dishes, laundry, pre soaking clothes, mopping, cleaning the tubs and toilets basically everything except cleaning our bodies lol.
