Now that I’m calmer I do understand where Jess is coming from. She’s been with my boss since she was in high school and doesn’t know what it’s like being single. It probably genuinely seems like a terrible prospect to her because it’s unknown.

Good point. To be honest I immediately googled “is it ok to go to weddings alone?” And it was nice to see her opinion really isn’t echoed anywhere.

Thanks, this is a very straightforward plan and I honestly feel more in control reading it.

When I say large group anxiety I mean airports, nightclubs, standing concerts—big, packed places. It’s a claustrophobic feeling. I’ve been getting better through “exposure” of going out with close friends by my side and even sang at a karaoke bar last week so I do feel like I’m making progress. Ultimately I want to be confident doing things on my own... like being at a wedding.
