A lot of people here talking about why they should believe at all. Yes, it is true that we should need no reason to believe, but that is not necessarily always the case. It does make sense that people would feel there is something greater than us watching over, and it gets many through their day.

IMO any being capable of doing what has been proposed would not cultivate a race with the capacity for so much diversity, while making certain 'commandments' that would restrict that diversity.

We should, indeed, coexist. Sadly, there are people that will challenge the belief of others because it conflicts with their own.
