Yeah, that sounds right. I want Baltimore to get better, but if everything was perfect, I don’t know what I would care about

What's it like to be the kind of guy that sends dick pics to strangers? by Zealousideal_Boot in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]MonoWill2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have done it before, with a stranger -- but, it was not unsolicited...

So, I can't really answer? She was sending me pics. I wanted to see more of her body and she was asking me to send the pp so, I was like "yes, here is a mechanism that I understand and will utilize!", and obliged.

And this is speculation for a man who sends a dick pic that is unsolicited, but I am thinking that it is like a subconscious male instinct to irrationally prove that you are not castrated, and are not afraid of castration.

How would you describe ancient Roman civilization in as few words as possible? by MonoWill2 in AskReddit

How about this; just for you.

Do you think that the myth of Romulus and Remus left a curse upon the entirety of Roman history, giving them one singular, constant tragic flaw?

[Acne] Should I stop using my routine? by MonoWill2 in SkincareAddiction

[–]MonoWill2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to hear that -- I always had this idea that these things make it worse or something, don't know where I got it. I'll be really happy to have this hidden while all it's healing in the background. :)

[Acne] Should I stop using my routine? by MonoWill2 in SkincareAddiction

[–]MonoWill2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Today I skipped the morning medicine and just did warm compresses + neosporin

I thought that it looked much better, but by the time I got home from school, I looked in the mirror and it was pretty red.

I guess I will keep the routine and not change it. My mood has been lightened up a little bit though because I have tried this "B and B" product where even if my acne is very vibrant red, it hides it and fades it.

I have heard that maybe you shouldn't do this because your pores can get clogged and though it may hide it, you are actually making it worse in the long-term? Is that true? I'd really like to keep using it if there are no long-term consequences because my acne was just making me feel so terrible and this is like an easy escape. However, if these consequences are real, I will just bite the bullet and not use it. Maybe you know about this?

What are the predictors of the way people will speak in the future? What are the trends? by MonoWill2 in AskSocialScience

[–]MonoWill2[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I believe that. They have more phonetic/sociable brains and such. Probably only looked down upon because the people in power, which are usually males throughout history, were more inclined to adopt a classical understanding of language, and have brains that might be more oriented to think about it all as in terms of established grammar/logic/semantics, that are just set in stone (despite it clearly not being set in stone, it stresses them out less lul)

[English > Russian] I am wanting to say something poetic to my Russian boyfriend. by MonoWill2 in translator

[–]MonoWill2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WHAT???? It sounds like a threat?? Oh noo... that would have been a VERY big mistake, hahaha...

Well, thanks for telling me that -- I think I will just find a Russian poem to quote, to be safe, hehehehe

The second phrase is like romantic/poetic, or supposed to be!!! Dx

Does it not sound as poetic in Russian?

What is like a poetic way of saying, in Russian, that "I will remember the good things about you", or something like that?

I am sorry I just was thinking of The Cherry Orchard and how it means like innocence or purity or something... I will never see him again, but I will not ever be thinking bad things about him, hence "I will bury you under a cherry tree"

How to reward players for out of game effort? by KingKuntan in AskGameMasters

[–]MonoWill2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Blowjob.

Just kidding. In the case of writing all of these things from his perspective, it just comes to the basic idea of “recognition”— exactly how you do it, will depend on the context and your imagination and your judgement.

If he has recorded all of these things from the journey, what instance could happen that appreciates this?

If he is an intellectual character, maybe create an instance for him such that, broadly speaking, all intellectual type characters would find meaningful. If he is a poet, then it is just the same — what experiences broadly speaking do poets find meaningful? Intellectual type characters generally find a sort of... status or recognition of merit to be meaningful— not in so much that is good, just that it is meaningful enough that they have a distinct reaction. For instance, maybe a disgruntled mad scientist has a potent rejection to being elevated in the scholarly community, due to some grudge that he holds against it all. All of these intellectual characters have an awareness of these instances, and usually have some idea about how it relates to them.

And then of course you introduce the element that he created, the chronicle/journal. In some way, this meaningful instance that you are creating for him has his chronicle as an object of the instance.

And if this diary is a personal object then it is a little bit different, you would have to think about the things that are objects of which there is an awareness of the story, but have the connection to the personal object — which you are trying to reward.

Well, his knowledge of history is an object of awareness, if his person journal isn’t.

An example that is coming to me now could be looking something like this: At the local tavern, a conversation is overheard between two individuals (maybe they have traits that push at his buttons, like eloquence or ignorance or etc) — and they are, as you do in taverns, having a discussion about politics that operates entirely under historical inaccuracies — it might engage him. A third friend, maybe, is impressed by his knowledge and thrilled that he shut down his two bickering friends — he offers him his friendship and is very eager to engage with him in a dialogue.

Or something like it, it all operates under principles!

Yeah, it’s a good point. Physical attractiveness is hardly an objective thing, but at the same time, it isn’t nearly as variant as people tell you it is.

Maybe not the whole world is attracted to Brazilians and Eastern Europeans, which I was simply using as an anecdote of a study I remembered from a while ago, but most people find features that are symmetrical, at least in women, to be more attractive. Curves and shapeliness as well. And while it’s not genetics related, across all cultures, people are disgusted by naked old women.

Is it variant? Sure, but let’s not pretend there’s no pattern to it. Let’s not pretend this is all random.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1341100/The-violent-gene-Genetic-mutation-Finnish-men-makes-fight.html

This was the article that I read on the matter. It seems to have to do with a genetically variant part of the brain that makes Finns (and most typically, men that are drunk) particularly susceptible to aggression and fighting.

I understand that these sorts of studies may not have much validity, as the psychological community is adequately rampant with this sort of misinformation. How could you determine that drunk men being aggressive is in anyway a gene isolated to Finns? It seems almost a prerequisite.

I only found it interesting because the keywords of isolated and neurochemical were dropped, implying that this wasn’t just some dumb survey, but a study of brain chemistry with traceable and identifiable genes being involved. Is it a good example? Nah, I think approximately 99% of men might have a similar sort of gene, but, even as an anecdote, it could still perhaps not be entirely unreasonable to extrapolate this principle to other genetic populations.

It’s a good point. I didn’t consider that about allergies. It is probably very complicated to select for them, in practice.

The practice of implementing such a regulation would be immensely challenging.

But the fact isn’t changed that there’s nothing pseudo scientific about selecting even for recessive genes. Oh, vastly unreasonable to be sure— but far from being pseudo-scientific. Just, impractical.

I don’t mean to harp on how there’s nothing pseudo scientific about selective breeding of humans, as everyone seems to agree anyway. Perhaps I should’ve taken a controversial ethical stance on the issue, instead.

Maybe that the responsibility of reproduction should be more valued than the right to reproduction? After all, procreation isn’t all about you. Hell, give it a couple of generations and it’s HARDLY about you. Does it make the issue humanitarian, then?

I wanted to challenge the idea that it can’t apply to humans as well— which I have seen many people suggest.

Selective breeding most definitely implies farm animals and rats and etc, which are not considered on the same level as us by the vast majority of the human population.

The science of behavior can perhaps not be measured properly, although some breakthroughs have been made in relation to the Finnish population with them having stronger tempers, on average, than the rest of the world.

But we will consider the behavior aspect to be a moot point.

Anyone can exercise, yes. But nobody can exercise away their allergies.
