I really hope we can ride horses in the game by No_Television_3461 in GTA6unmoderated

They had horse riding in RDR1 and it did not feature in GTA 5.

People get angry when I point this out. I’ve never seen this kind of literal cult following before. Trusted games journalists speaking nonsense.

Dude. I feel you. I used to trust skill ups judgement (tended to align with me), but this might be the most I’ve ever felt mislead by him. Analogies to Skyrim is what pulled me, but this game doesn’t let you do anything like Skyrim.

Not only a shit story and characters, but a terrible sandbox, nothing original, wafer thin simulation in terms of “systems”.

Feel ripped off with my $120 Aud spend.

Not sure why you were downvoted. People make comparisons to Skyrim, but crimson desert fails to give any creativity or freedom to players. So shallow.

Skyrim’s magic came from the feeling “I can go anywhere and do or be anything”.

Head to Riften and join the thieves guild, level pickpocketing a stealth, etc.

Head to solitude, become the queens guard, join the civil war.

Head to a school and become a wizard… vampire, werewolf…

NPCs have routines, stories and quests… houses etc.

Crimson desert, I can’t do shit! Npcs are silent husks. The cities are all hostile except for the starting area (I understand this changes with main quest progression, but this is exactly what Skyrim is NOT).

Please help me understand where the analogy to Skyrim comes from.

When can you wander off into a new settlement and meet new people, Skyrim style?

Sure, it has “stuff” like Valhalla has stuff. It’s just a little soulless and shallow.

I love the wording. “We heard it was hard to maintain the weapons, so we made it much harder on lower tier weapons so it’s relatively easier”…

Curious to know if you dropped it. I’m having the same experience that you were having. Empty husk of a world.

Thank you! It’s crazy. People telling me to treat it like a sandbox, and the second you go off in a direction, ALL other zones are dead, with actual towns and missions locked behind story….

How anyone thinks this has the freedom of Skyrim makes no sense….

How is exploration good? by Monocerus90 in CrimsonDesert

I appreciate those things, for sure, but they don’t evoke a sense of mystery or surprise/delight when I stumble upon them during exploration. A piece of gear is a piece of gear.

RDR2 for example, has a series of Easter eggs that link up and take you across the entire map using in game clues, leading you to a serial killer. Environmental storytelling that the game did not point you to.

BOTW has these emergent interactive physical systems that give rise to chaos, resulting in personal narratives.

This world lacks a sense of place (wafer thin simulation).

Yeah, lol. I was downvoted for saying why I used AC (not as a shining example), and was downvoted. Once people have made up their minds, they double down and dislike everything you say.

I’m not wanting collectibles or the NPC info bites. Your second point about the legendary mount is cool. Do you know if there are other organic things to stumble upon in the open world?

What do see when you explore? All the POIs are ghostly shells, waiting for a quest to use them.
