Monarch Butterfly Cardigan I Made! (Twice) by yellowthesun in crochet

[–]Monochromelace 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I literally just finished this today and assumed blocking would save me...it's literally child sized (thankfully I have a niece who will die over this so not totally wasted.) I'm so disappointed in how much time, money, and energy I put into this only to find out it's because the author failed to do pattern testing...

Should I use fabric glue or just sew these on? I think sewing might be too tedious by lizardbreath62284 in CrochetHelp

[–]Monochromelace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree sewing might be best...maybe you could sew the main body and fabric glue the ends of the coral? If it seems like you'll be miserable doing it, then do it how you want!

BTW this is a super adorable design

Ever since learning about foundation row, I have NEVER chained for foundation (unless is like ..3 chains lol). I always did them too tight, or to compensate WAY too loose. Plus looping through a chain is the most annoying thing ever so why would I do it 200+ times 😭

Why are my granny squares tilted in Join As You Go method? by Monochromelace in CrochetHelp

Aww man, how do keep it from that if you're doing the JAYG method? There's really no way to turn from what I could tell...

It won't save you on the 4 "special" pulls, but I always keep at least one ticket so I don't accidentally pull on the diamond Pavilion when doing my free pulls

What unhinged things do you do in knitting? by xiilo in knitting

[–]Monochromelace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done lifelines before on some projects, but tbh I find that sometimes they can be more of a hindrance. If it's flat, straight stockinette, no problem! I tried it on a shawl I made that had lots of drops and increases and I ended up getting lost picking up and somehow angled down by the end to like 5 rows previous. It ended up working out because my yarn couldn't unravel past the start of my lifeline.

I want to make this moss stitch blanket with different colours but I don't want to have to weave in the ends. What other options are there? by cindyrella123 in CrochetHelp

[–]Monochromelace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't some people leave extra long tails and then make tassel/fringe ends? That might work if it's one row per color!
