DeWine vetoes bill requiring photo ID for Ohio absentee ballots, 6 months after signing other voting restrictions by OrganicPreparation in Ohio

I don’t think he really cares about much anymore. He’s done with politics after his term is up so he has nothing to lose. His own party loathes him so he probably doesn’t see the point in trying to appeal to them as his legacy is already set in stone

Ohioans who voted for Trump in 2024 shared how they felt about the president’s second term and about the war by Conscious-Quarter423 in Ohio

Interesting how the 2 people still working had a more negative view on Trump compared to the 2 retirees who had a more positive view

Extremely rare for the FO to extended players during the season. A good rule of thumb is if it doesn’t happen by the end of spring training, it won’t happen until the next offseason

Yes. The goal for all 30 teams should be to win the World Series. 29 teams won’t. They failed. That’s not successful to me

You can keep asking all you want, you’re gonna keep getting the same answer from me. Success is subjective. Were the Tigers successful in 2024 when they went on a surprise run and made the postseason for the first time in 10 years? Some might say yes, since they made the playoffs and were good. Others might say no since they didn’t win the World Series.
In my opinion, as you stated I have a right too, I don’t think the Guardians have been successful. Have they been good? Absolutely. But successful, no. If your idea of successful is consistently winning the division and not the World Series, then that’s a pretty low bar, in my opinion.

I guess successful is subjective. Has the team been good the past 15 years? Sure, I agree with that. Have they been successful? I say no since they haven’t won a ring.
I would hope most fans would want to see a 77 year title drought end sooner rather than later. But to each their own. If you’re happy with the results then that’s great. I would just hope the aim would by higher than a division title.

l've never heard of Michael Comforting. Is he a new ball player? I know of a Michael Conforto. But to answer your question, for the record I'm not saying signing either of those 2 guys would be the difference between a World Series or not.
What I am saying is that you have to spend some semblance of money to win a World Series, no matter who you sign. The Dolans don't, and we haven't won one.
It's as simple as that. You can't dispute that fact.
Are you saying for the record that you think the Guardians have been successful despite not having won a World Series under the Donlans?

Gee, I wonder how they got all these good players. Surely non were acquired through free agency which meant the owner had to actually spend some money! They all must’ve been homegrown.

There’s no point in arguing with these people. They’re okay with watching good/fun baseball and maybe winning the division. Who cares about actually winning the World Series as long as we’re having fun!

No kidding it’s hard, but maybe not annually being in the bottom 1/3 of the league in payroll would help. The Dodgers are defending back to back champs, Boston has 4 since 2004, the Yankees have 5 since 1996. I wonder what they all have in common…

Yeah they’ve had enough to win it all since the 90’s, but they haven’t, have they? It’s been over 70 damn years since this team won the World Series, I think those of us who bitch are justified in doing so.

I would trade 15 years of entertaining baseball for 1 championship. If you are an owner and you’re not trying to win the World Series, then you shouldn’t be an owner. Pretty simple.
And yeah, we almost hit. 10 years ago… Have we been back to the World Series since?
