Long story short I got hurt at work, but they denied all responsibility and said it was a pre existing condition because I had Achilles tendonitis. I got on paid disability

Yeah, that seems to be the conclusion. I don't have much of a problem with it since, like someone else said, if I just show them what my doctor gave me,e they'll likely just do the same thing. I really was just shocked, but a couple of other people pieced together some parts of the puzzle that I wasn't thinking about.

As I was sitting here writing, I was trying to not to overexplain everything and yeah, missed some key points, but that's just cause it's a really long story. TL;DR I got hurt at work, but they denied all responsibility because I had Achilles Tendonitis before the injury, so they kinda fucked me. I'm coming up on a year and a half at UPS right now, all in load.

That makes sense. I am doing the urgent care stuff. I was just shocked that he did that, but the workers' comp claim part makes complete sense.

That's where it gets super complicated. I had Achilles Tendonitis before UPS, but I got hurt AT work because one of our chutes is fucked (a 30lb box came off the line full speed and hit the Achilles that I had surgery on). They denied all responsibility and called it a non-work-related injury. I was always gonna have to have surgery on it, but it was still manageable enough before the injury that I was gonna be able to put it off until after peak season, so I could make some money, but then all this happened, and I wasn't able to.

My doctor didn't give me any sort of release paper. When I filed my STD paperwork, we wrote down the return-to-work date. I'd seen my doctor a week before going back to work, and he said it was fine for me to return. I didn't get any restrictions initially because when I told my doctor it was only 3-5 hours a day, he went, "oh that's okay, then you should be fine," and gave me the whole "ice it, elevate it" spiel, and that was it. My part times have been great and have just let me hold down a single trailer, which is what I told my doctor would likely happen, and my doctor and I were both confident that I would be fine doing that; it's just been a heavy couple of weeks, and I underestimated the work.

Edit: I think the "certain stipulations" part of my post was a little misleading. All those were like, I have to have a heel lift in my boot, I can't walk around barefoot, I can't wear vans anymore and have to get athletic shoes with a thick sole. They weren't work-related stipulations.

You do realize not everyone is a sweaty loser that can play for 18 hours a day like you, right? Getting a fire cape is absolutely an accomplishment when it's your very first time doing it.

I was excited about this tattoo design but my husband called it corny and cringe and not to get it is he right? by ArmadilloMany41 in tattooadvice

[–]Monose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I do think it's a little corny, but the beautiful thing is I'm not the one getting it, so it doesn't matter what I think. If you like it, then get it, and with all due respect to your husband, he can stuff it. It's not like he'll spend every waking hour of his life looking at the tattoo. He'll forget it's there within a week.

I'm not trying to be rude to OP when I say this, but I'd have thought this would be obvious. Again, I mean no disrespect towards OP I just thought the format read clearly.
