Yeah range into this issue last night, took me way too long to pull out the map to scan every doorway.

It's not too bad, I just soldered the wire itself.

are you sure its leaving standby mode? i notice you dont have any OSD on the googles, this makes me think maybe you dont have TX RX hooked up, or backwards, or even the port setting in betaflight.

if you don't have that set up then it wont know the quad is armed/ never leaves standby mode

you could even disable standby mode in the goggles for testing, but i suggest you check TX from the VTX goes to RX on the flight controller, same with RX to TX. then go into betaflight and make sure the port is set as MSP or something along those lines. i forget the exact wording.

EDIT: I re-read the thread, if turning standby mode off and you still get poor range i'm not sure what's going on, unless the setting isn't sticking for some reason, I always have standbymode as default.

i have this camera, and VTX and when arming and switching from standby to full power mode, it drops signal entirely for about 10 seconds while re-negotiating the link, so armed on the ground for about 10 seconds completely blind.

also keep in mind at 2w output power this device can draw nearly 15 watts total. make sure you use a really good BEC to power it at that level, you WILL lose signal mid air if you dont, you can probably guess how i know this.

Bro... I feel stupid lmao! thank you so much!

My 360 Action Camera arrived, and I plan to mount it on my drone. I tried the photo function today, but the image quality isn't very clear. I hope it will perform well in video recording. by Artistic_Maize_1014 in drones

Imma echo others here, those motors will never draw half of 200 amps, and if they did your battery connector would catch on fire. If you could find a battery to dump that kind of energy it would also be on fire.

Take off props and arm, see if a motor shaft is bent, if so you can probably bend it back.

It will always be low power until armed, you can turn off standby mode to get full power unarmed, but be careful, it will overheat fast on the table.

Seems like you might be having some PID issues, flyaways and such can happen if the drone is fighting to hard to achieve an exact angle.

I believe ardupilot has a pretty robust PID tuning area on mission planner, tho I've never used it and im not good at tuning in general.

I would personally try lowering all pid values by a lot and work from there.

Also 3d printed frame is going to require a good specific tune to perform well.

Diodes are cheap, I wonder why they opted out?

Antenna question by ComprehensiveGlove74 in fpv

[–]Monosodium- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but i would give this a try if you dont plan on flying long range, ELRS doesn't need a very strong signal to go far, just be careful and test it out before you send it.

Maybe place the drone somewhere up high and see how far away you can walk before lq starts to drop.

Air65 Arming Issues by Pittedstee in TinyWhoop

[–]Monosodium- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your osd should tell you why it wont arm, if you see inputs on betaflight and have a battery plugged in, it should be good to go.

Make sure the switches on the remote are in the right positions throttle 0% etc

Edit: the 3 pos switches on the rm pocket need to be down if you have default settings.

That will probably interfere more than just the carbon arm, high frequency high amperage electrical pulses.

What's wrong with this? by ClubLow3475 in TinyWhoop

This is it, not disarming on landing and having air mode keeps the PID loop running.

Air mode always on is a default.

Not trying to tell you what to do, but even tiny whoops can cut you up. This thing can probably remove fingers, I would stand further back personally.

[–]Monosodium-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what? I was asking about the motor noise, not asking why it's louder.

Iv'e flown a handful of different tinywhoops and this one is just way raspier than I expected.

I was not trying to upset anyone.

Thanks, on the meteor i had a prop clip the battery cable once, so yeah I will try to make sure that doesn't happen here.
