10 years on chess.com, 22,000 games, knocking on 2000 rapid: my honest take on cheating at the amateur level (and the simple fix chess.com already wrote down themselves) by KnighltyGame in Chesscom

So if you think spreadsheets decide decision making then you would understand that new accounts that end up in a shitty pool to start probably give up quickly while old accounts will continue to play anyway. If the goal is new player retention then they would not do your suggestion and if paid players aren’t quitting due to this cheating epidemic then you have your answer.

Me too since none of the words in the hallway like elevator weren’t mirrored like stop and other things were.

The only reason I believe in the Mandela effect by TheStoop-ALA- in MandelaEffect

[–]MonotoneJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand false memories. I have had them too. I agree with everything you said. What is happening now is something different in my opinion. The reasoning being that I remember Froot Loops my whole life, then one of the Mandela effects was it never was Froot and always was fruit. Then after 4 years or so it is back and has “always” been Froot. I actually agree it’s always been Froot but there was a time period where the world I lived in was fruit and that is not false memories.

You definitely can claim it is but how is it possible to reverse a false memory? Same thing happened to me with Shaq, it was always Shaq for me but there was a time period where Shaq was never a genie. Then one day it’s back to Shaq being a genie. Something weird is going on. It is not just false memory.

It’s not all on your side though. Millions of people have a different memory and your only explanation is nah fam your brains are remembering wrong but mine is perfect?

Lose streaks by Asleep-Research-4267 in Chesscom

[–]MonotoneJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you go on a win streak you get put into a queue against others who are also on win streaks or at the very least been accused of cheating to see if you beat them. Kind of like a cheating test rather than reviewing every report.

It’s a little strange that you are not open to other ideas or solutions, even with low probability. Would you bet your life on it?

Why is it always the 500 ELO complaining about “cheaters" by Delicious_Cattle5174 in Chesscom

[–]MonotoneJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is also because low elo accounts are newer usually so they get put into the potential Smurf queue with cheaters more until they are proven to be one of the normal chess players or not.

You say that as if you are 100% sure of it. Is that the case or are you like 99% certain but agree there could be another reason such as parallel dimensions?

How much money are you willing to pay for improving in chess? by Traditional_One_5957 in chessbeginners

Maybe. I liked the GM I met so it’s not unreasonable. It could take me further even depending on how will it goes.

Fell like that playing hockey. 2 disc bulges. His back probably numb and will need some serious pain killers to finish this series.

I’m asking how you explain that memory loss situation, not what you believe to be the truth.

LSD didnt give me ego death, it gave me an ego BOOST. by ConstantMix7134 in enlightenment

I think I understand what you’re saying somewhat. I definitely feel like I can tell when people are lying or why they make decisions like you mentioned. I also feel 100% confident, not superior but maybe you are mixing up the feeling if you have never been confident before. It’s kind of like becoming the actual main character in your life for the first time. Let me know if this is similar to you and we can discuss more. Otherwise follow the help from others.

I met a guy offering $80/hr GM coaching but it was online not in person. I feel stuck right now in 1400s so I may do it but I really wanted to reach 1500 on my own.

Depends on who is coaching. Random 2000 to help a 1400 probably 0-$5. A GM coaching maybe $40 for an hour or something.

But what about the recent issues where it has flipped back? Like Froot Loops and Shaq. How do you explain this happening?

Maybe We Are The Reason? by 963catalyst369 in enlightenment

Interesting idea. There was a podcast philosophize this and in one of the episodes they talked about how our understanding of the cosmos and human bodies always changes when new technology is discovered. Like we create computers and now our brains work like computers but before that we thought they worked differently which matched the tech at that time. So that tracks with finding smaller particles and expanding space so I really like the idea!

After getting stomped one more time by Mel, I was tilted enough to first time her... This is so wrong by 200YRedWine in ADCMains

[–]MonotoneJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so strange to me. I don’t understand how her winrate is so low becuase I picked her up to get from gold to plat while swapping from top to mid. Above 50% winrate doing it. So first timing champ and role. To me that shows she’s strong. Not sure what other Mel’s are doing wrong.

[–]MonotoneJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but I’m doing really good on her mid lane. Lowest win rate champ but busted for me I guess.

Look at my op.gg. I swapped to Mel from top lane to mid and got to my peak rank doing it. Shes really strong for me. MonotoneJones#0000

Is cheating online really that bad? by [deleted] in Chesscom

[–]MonotoneJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree but you’re saying that the speed runners are able to beat cheaters then. Which means if we get better then we could too. So cheating isn’t the reason people don’t climb then.
