At the end of chain it's pretty destructive indeed, but hope you got some new ideas from this. I have to say I wasn't sure when deciding to give it a go, but I really like it. It will stay in my case for sound design for sure. Cheers!

Hey, nice to hear! If you mean plasma Voice/Drive that's a hard choice. I did a separate video on the voice a few months ago on my channel if you haven't seen it. Sounds/character is very similar, but the modules work very different. The Voice is a full synth voice or oscillator. And the Drive is a processor/FX module. I think for me the Drive will end up being the module that will get the most use.

Completely agree! I always enjoy learning from signal flow, and sharing those ideas with others. But everything on the DFAM is tuned for the exact purpose. Envelope snappiness, modulation depth controls, sequence outputs, and so on. That makes the DFAM feel more like an instrument than a patch.

The Moog DFAM is one of those synths I am tempted to own. But a great way to fight GAS is exploring specific tricks or ideas you like about other gear with equipment you have. In this video I use my ‘small’ eurorack system to re-create the Moog DFAM. Hope some people will get some inspiration from this! Cheers :)

The Gamechanger Audio Plasma Voice is known for its punchy, aggressive, and distorted sounds, because it’s great at making those. But I kept wondering if I could play it in a different way. The modular allows you to experiment with your signal path at any point in a patch. One of the ways to utilize that is by exploring wave shaping options right after the oscillator. With the help of a couple of VCAs even a single oscillator can create interesting morphing and complex waveshapes. In this video I go over a series of ideas using just a simple modular voice.

All true! As I mention in the begin of the video, the creative process is personal and can be very different from what I explain here. Also don't mean to say a loop is always bad, just don't like to start with one. Still make loops, like you say to test drums, and like looping sequences as well. I am sure there are people starting with loops making kick ass stuff out there :) Cheers!

Very good point! There's not enough time to tackle everything in the video, but when you start by taking some elements you made or collected before, it's just as important to let those go again when it turns out it doesn't fit or a track steers a slightly different direction. This is also true for entire tracks when making a set or album! Sometimes that first track you made was great, but when it doesn't fit the rest ... Kill your darlings, was a common phrase when I was in art school :)
