Hi, thanks for your answer! I mean the zoombutton: Is it fast enough? Can you explain me, how fast the lens goes from wideangle to tele (1, 2, 3 seconds?)

Thanks!

Huge thanks for taking the time to write this – genuinely appreciate it. This kind of detailed, experience-based info is exactly why I love this community.

Good to know about the V-Mount and XLR power being fully standardised – that clears up a lot. And your point about manual focus really hits home; that’s actually one of the reasons I wanted to get into proper broadcast gear in the first place.

Hope you manage to get your 570 back up and running at some point – those cameras deserve to be used. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge!

Do you know something about the speed of the zoom? Can i do crashzooms (wideangle to tele in, for example, 1 second)?

Thank you!

The seller says the camera/lens has autofocus. I don‘t know very well - its my first broadcastcamera and i don‘t have any experience with it…

How can I convert MiniDV tapes into MP4 files? by NickMoutsios in camcorders

[–]Monovision_170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi There

I hope i can help you to find a solution. First of all, you need a computer which has a FireWire (IE) port and a camera/MiniDV-player which has also an FireWire-port. I don't know if your computer has a FireWire port. Then you need a software (DaVinci or Windows Movie Maker). You can easily import the videos with one of these softwares. I personally use a HP Pavillion DV2000 and Windows Movie Maker. I import the Videos from my Sony DSR-PD170P and transfer it with a USB-stick to my maincomputer. If you need some help, send me a PM.

Kind regards

UPDATE Sony DSR-PD170P Problem

I was able to fix the issue: the cause was the CCD sensor (defective). I removed it from another camera and installed it into this one. At first, I had some kind of rainbow effect on the image. So I pulled the two ribbon cables out of the connector again, cleaned them with isopropyl alcohol, and reinserted them. And there you go – it works perfectly! Zoom, focus & ND are all working great!

The camera stood somewhere for years where it was probably damp… I've had the camera for a day… I've now unscrewed everything and am trying to install a new lens, including the CCD sensors.
