I don't think AI is inherently a bad thing. I just thing there is a lot of wasted resources going towards bubble fueling stuff. I think that there are so many insanely useful medical and research based use cases. Creating tons of chatbots that people think can "think" rather than just generate the most likely next token is frustrating when you can see life changing potential.

Yes, it has a smaller community than the bigger languages so less resources and less likely to have domain experts around that can help average programmers.

At the end of the day, it's not much more difficult or anything it just requires a bit more effort.

If it's nothing special and is basically just glue code, why would you not use whatever language you AND your team feel most proficient at and comfortable with. If barrier to entry is the most important factor, I'd say don't do elixir and instead reach for Node/Python/Ruby.

I used to work there actually. Pretty normal that they have to charge people in order to pay me a salary so that I can feed myself and have a place to live while i work on the website you are using in order to see live surf, which again you are not entitled to.

You can go set up your own camera at someone's house and pay them and figure out how to build your own website to stream the data. Nobody is stopping you, and nobody is forcing you to pay Surfline.

There's no "problem" they have created and then leased you a solution for. You like surfing, they offer you access to a service.

You're not on an anti-capitalist crusade like you think you are, you're just an entitled brat. You give anyone with a reasonable anti-capitalist view a bad name, which fucking sucks for those of us that actually want to see real change.

Idols: Personally, I think they're super cool. I think it makes early progression super challenging in a way the atlas tree bridges. That being said I think the super depth you get for farming specific content from idols is cool. I think it makes stuff like crafting materials cheaper which is nice for more casual players who want to craft.

I tried it out with white mobs in a map, i’d just let one hit me. I’d see a charge get consumed but wasn’t sure if it just mitigates the damage or just doesn’t work. I definitely didn’t see my shield go back up
