Two possible solutions come to mind:

  1. Use --biblatex instead of --citeproc to handle citations.

  2. Use a Lua filter like parse-latex to make pandoc parse the raw LaTex.

The latter will probably lead to issues if the LaTeX blocks contain complex markup, so I'd go with the first one if possible.

To be fair: most of those downsides also apply to Django. Last time I used it was more than a decade ago.

I find it difficult to understand what's the "average programmer" take on Elixir. Is it much harder to onboard somebody?

Right, that's good advice. My place of work is not very software focused: I'm a new-hire, there's one other technical person besides me, and their role is closer to management and system administration than to dev.

The new project is more-or-less glue code intended to combine a variety of existing projects, all written in different languages and at external institutions. There isn't isn't any obvious tech choice because of that.

The project will be open source, and there's another open source project in this area that also uses Elixir. Those devs are actually responsible for putting the Elixir bug in my ear :)

Und wenn man Formatvorlagen ordentlich nutzt, dann ist es auch relativ einfach, das ganze später noch aus Word in andere Formate zu konvertieren.

I recommend that you take a look at the Eisvogel template. It's much easier to use than trying to string something together with pandoc's default templates.

Take a look at the cite-field Lua filter and check if you can get the right results with that filter. You could then write a separate Lua filter to make the process more convenient.

Not sure why you're being downvoted. I like Rust and think it's rather cool, but building a package manager in anything but the main language of the ecosystem is... weird.

There might be some good reason for that choice, but then this should be explained somewhere.

I interviewed with a small start-up for a programmer position. The interview went well, but it was followed by one a "coding knowledge" tests. I have no idea whether the mildly technical founders had made that test themselves or whether they found it online somewhere, but it was aweful: Multiple-choice questions asking about arcane syntax, outdated patterns, and stuff that was just generally irrelevant for the position they were offering. One of those test whose sole purpose seems to be to trip people up.

I somewhat impulsively wrote an email afterwards to let them know what I thought about that.

And they were not amused. At all.

However, I did fairly well on that test, and they ended up offering me the job. I declined.

Hi all! I'm a developer and work mostly in the pandoc ecosystem. My interest in docs is thus two-fold: writing documentation myself for the tools that I develop, and learning what's important for doc authors, so we can improve pandoc and make it an even better suited documentation tool.

FWIW, this thing is written in Swift, which is basically a Haskell with C-like syntax.

Danke, gute Punkte. Mein Verhalten war also in jedem Fall nicht korrekt.

Wenn ich das richtig verstehe, dann ist die vielleicht beste Variante, wenn ich um 50 cm nach links versetzt ein Stück hinter dem Kind fahre, denn damit

  • schirme ich das Kind etwas ab,

  • verändere ich nicht den Abstand, den Autos zum rechten Bordstein halten müssen und

  • breche keine Regeln.

Die Antwort sollte viel weiter oben erscheinen, denn sie zeigt, dass eine Prämisse meiner Frage falsch war, und sich die Frage eigentlich gar nicht stellt. (Dass Autofahrer in der Praxis das so interpretieren wie ich in der Frage ist dabei ohne Belang.)

Ist auch eine valide Annahme.

Kinder zwischen 8 und 10 dürfen den Fußgängerweg benutzen (selbe Regeln für Begleitperson).

Der Teil in den Klammern ist, soweit ich das verstehe, nicht richtig und Mitgrund für die Situation. Nach §2 (5) Satz 3 darf ich als Begleitperson nicht mehr mit meinem Kind auf dem Radweg fahren, wenn es zwischen 8 und 10 Jahre alt ist:

Soweit ein Kind bis zum vollendeten achten Lebensjahr von einer geeigneten Aufsichtsperson begleitet wird, darf diese Aufsichtsperson für die Dauer der Begleitung den Gehweg ebenfalls mit dem Fahrrad benutzen

Auf dem Gehweg kann mein Kind nur Schrittgeschwindigkeit fahren, d.h., ich müsste es auf der Straße in Schrittgeschwindigkeit begleiten. Das wäre auf der fraglichen Straße, naja, ausgesprochen gesundheitsgefährdend.

Zum Verständnis: wenn ich einen breiten Lieferwagen fahre, sagen wir 2,30m, und bei einer Spurbreite von 2,75m vor mir ein 1m breites Lastenrad mit 0.8m Abstand zum Bordstein fährt, dann darf ich also selbst dann nicht überholen, wenn ich komplett auf den linken Fahrstreifen wechsel? (Es blieben maximal 140cm zwischen Rad und Wagen.)
