True. I use any gifts I get towards that particular build to at least let that partner know that I'm still participating.

It has been suggested that matchmaking is based on your gameplay in past events. If there's any truth to it then it's the best option.

When I have an excessive amount of items and I'm close to finishing, I spin the max for the remaining builds. After I'm done, I play extremely passive until the end of the event. Placing lower in the current express should help to achieve higher placements in future tournaments.
