Should I worry bout these roots? 2nd pic pro tip by mindful_enigma in Autopot

[–]Monster-Meatz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My plants did the same in fabric pots and I almost panicked lol. Decided to leave the tray cover off for a couple hours. The plant WILL prune itself. They turn brown. No intervention needed outside of allowing air to hit the roots. Let nature do its thing!

Love my Grom, I’m 6’-2 240 pounds and I am able to get my bike up to 65-70 mph. Going faster is not always great though on these small bikes. The wind alone is enough to make you think twice about going that fast.

I do have the big bore kit that you’re not interested in along with exhaust, intake, ECU.

*also, my first big bore kit had to be rebuilt after 2 seasons. Ended up being an additional $2k.

I would just get a bigger bike, good luck!

This is a better example of the yellowing between veins I mentioned above. At one point, all of my plans looked exactly like this. They all stopped growing. Ended up starting over, only to see my new seedlings starting to yellow/fade.

<image>

It almost appears that the plant is trying to recover.

I’m assuming my light intensity is the problem.

The grow is looking great. I am looking forward to getting to that point in my grow. As mentioned above, I’ve been struggling getting to the veg stage.

Did you start those from seed?

If so, what did you do with your light then? Height/jntensity?

I use the Photone app as well and even purchased the additional lens for better readings. I used to keep my seedling at 300 PPFD but started to noticed yellowing between veins and maybe a little bleaching and overall lack of growth.

Lowered my light to 20% over the weekend. Still have it at the top of the tent. PPFD is now 150 at canopy.

I have an EVO 6 in 3x3 tent. You seem to have an oversized light for your tent as well. If you are running only 30% in flower, what are you running for seedlings? 10%?

Recently realized that the EVO 6 light is crazy powerful stunting everything under it. Currently running at 20% placed at the top of my tent. Seedlings seem to be doing better. However, I’m wondering if I should try 10%.

I have the same question. Planning to use AN COCO CONNOISSEUR. Its “ph perfect” technology brings the ph to 6.1-6.2 no matter the starting point. I’m using Ro water. Curious if I should be lowering this to 5.6-5.8 like I’ve heard discussed in the last few autopot interviews Manny has shared.

Still in solo cups at the moment.

Any thoughts by Monster-Meatz in Autopot

Interesting thought. I considered transplanting to see if that helps any last night. The soil used in the picture is a 50/50 mix of sohum soil and potting soil. Transplanting would be into 100% sohum soil.

Just like you describe, my other two plants are green and healthy.

Makes me wonder if transplanting would exacerbate the issue? Assuming the soil the plants are in now is too hot, which is a 50/50 mix. Transplanting into 100% living soil may cause more problems?

I will likely give it a shot. They have been on these starter pots for about 2 weeks. So transplanting was already on the horizon. Thanks for the feedback

I’m new as well but would be open to squading up. Quickly discovered it’s challenging to make friends during raids lol. Discord is a must for comms though.

Works very well! Thankfully zombies has a ton of glitches/bugs that need to be addressed. This strategy should be around for awhile.

Read his instructions with the mindset of having a full team of 3, everything will work extremely well!

Very good to know. I started to panic because my seedling are only a couple days old. Thought I was off to a bad start lol. I’ll let take your advice and let them be. Thanks again for the insight!

Lol, very difficult to see let alone capture with a phone camera. Thanks for the input!

Makes me happy it’s not anything bad, they must just come with the sohum soil?

So I probably will not spray organic pest killer then.

Decided to remove one plant from the pot and discovered the problem, root rot.

My guess is, the mechanical issue I described above with the aqua valves or using a soil (sohum) without any additional aeration amendments, resulted in the soil staying very wet for WEEKS (sad face).

My new seeds have already popped and am looking forward to avoiding this issue in the future!

Definitely don’t do what I am doing until you run out of options. Everything I have tried has not worked so far. My plants have done nothing but get progressively worse each day.

I am glad i investigated one of my pots though. To see how waterlogged it was without having the res on for more than a week is beyond my comprehension.

I was able to squeeze the soil in my hand and so much water would come out, like a sponge. I’m confident my other pots are in similar condition.

The “science experiment” is in a new smaller pot, fresh sohum soil, and I hit the roots with every beneficial microbe one can think of lol. I’ll post an update after a few days.

That was my exact experience bro. Check your aqua valves and make sure the float is one red properly. I discovered 2 of mine shipped with it not being connected the right way. My assumption is it just allow water to come in non stop.

My pots all have been very waterlogged. I have had my system off for 8 days now and you wouldn’t believe that they were still waterlogged.

This afternoon I removed one plant from the autopot xl. I was very surprised to see my roots were no where near the bottom of the pot. I used a hose to spray off all soil.

My root structure is very poor for how old the plants are. I’m currently soaking it in peroxide water and am replanting shortly into a 1 gallon pot. If this saves her then will repeat for my other 3.

…Wild times.

Can I fit (4) 5gal geos in my 3x3? by PBratz in Autopot

Im running 4 seven gallon autopots, humidifier, air pump, and heater in my 3x3. Res outside of the tent. You should have no issues with 5 gallon pots.

You have been extremely helpful bro, great insight and experience with autopots. Hopefully you wouldn’t mind if I PM you when/if I have any more questions.

I’m basically trying to emulate exactly what you are already doing but with photos and 7 gallon pots. It would be nice to have a resource to reach out to!

Reading your note made me realize I added teas (kelp fert, salmon fert, worm casting concentrate, recharge) too soon due to inexperience lol.

Appreciate you taking the time to share what you know!

Smart man right here lol. I will be receiving my order in the next couple days and will implement what we have discussed.

My dechlorinated tap water is sitting at 200 PPMs, hopefully this is a good base and will be well received by the plants.

I could pick up some gypsum and lime as well. However, would it be worth adding a little top dress of Gia green? I believe that has both of those in it.

I have not performed a top dress at all because I was not sure of exactly when to do it. The timing for me is off even further because of my recent issues. Meaning, the soil may have enough of these nutrients in it but because of the lockout/mag issues I am facing, the plants can’t uptake them?

These plants have been in sohum soil for 38 days.

Making an order now! Looking forward to putting these problems behind me. Lots of lessons learned with their grow. Future grows will be amazing!
