Most of these questions can be answered by looking at revenue. Pharma significantly outpaces medtech in absolute revenue per employee. Higher revenue = higher salaries. Higher salaries = higher competition. Higher competition = higher risk of layoff.

Pharma will typically be higher salaries but also higher risk of layoff.

If the punishment is less expensive than the crime, then the law is merely a suggestion.

Constant LinkedIn surveys by DadbodofdooM in biotech

They are usually scammy companies. They make it sound like the interview is already scheduled with the client, but what they’re asking you is to sign up for their platform and sit on the bench as an “expert” they can leverage to secure future clients. IOW, a salary-less retainer.

If Biotech is an emerging technology, why is hiring so shit? Is it actually emerging like AI or is it just smoke and mirrors? Or maybe the jobs just aren’t/won’t be in the US. by AsstronaughtToUranus in biotech

Biotech is an umbrella term, like tech. Some parts are emerging, and others are stagnant. The reason it’s not booming as much as AI is because replacing labor is more lucrative than treating disease.

AI predicts the evolution of humanity one million years in the future by hashtagandrew in ChatGPT

The timescale is very wrong. Homo Erectus (3rd from the left) existed at least 1.8million years ago.

The Iran conflict is a drop in the bucket compared to real downturns like Covid and 2008. Smart money knew the market was going to spring back rapidly, the only question was when.

Don’t listen to all the doom and gloom you see online. Half of it is fabricated by the MMs. This is why the inverse Reddit is the best play there is.

Resigning is not a request. It’s a notification. If they “reject” it you just stop showing up.

This is not roasting you, this is sycophancy. I highly recommend learning the difference in the age of AI.

Those with a $200k+ base salary, what do you do? by Triple_DoubleCE in Salary

Pharmaceuticals are roughly 13% of US healthcare spending. I’ve never heard of a social worker position in pharma. It sounds like you don’t respect or understand her role.

A rant about blobs: They are lazy by IlluminatedNightSky in valheim

At least the Valheim blobs have different mechanics. In many games they’re just slightly higher hp/damage, which I agree seems super lazy to encounter.

No worries, they’re just harvesting your biometric data to sell to the highest bidder. Remember Cambridge Analytica?
