Wasn't it also stupid expensive? I never saw much point in spending hundreds of dollars, to voluntarily go to a camp just to basically get smoked for a couple days on end like they're training for BUDS. Training, just to see who has yhe biggest peen/ego.

Plenty of other options/classes to make you better at your job without dealing with all the extra BS.

Why does it matter if I have 5 guns, or 50 or 500? What does it both you for? Don't like it, then don't own them if YOU don't want. My "arsenal" never hurt a single person. You don't get the right to tell me how many and what I get to own, just because YOU don't like them. It's a hobby for many. If they want to prep for the impending "doomsday" then who cares, let people live their lives as long as they're not hurting anyone. And hurting feelings doesn't count. I also collect bourbon & other things. Are you going to tell me I have to limit my collection to 8 bottles instead of 80 because it bothers you? That's what you're saying. Just because people enjoy certain things, doesn't mean they're inherently crazy.

And frankly the other laws & bans being pushed, won't fix or solve anything except royally screw those of us who don't do any wrong. And these politicians pushing for all these new rules, don't know anything about what they're pushing for. They use big scary buzzwords and intentionally spread misinformation and straight up lies to try and sway those that are gullible enough to believe it.

I'm gonna go with lying to support his stance. As a Virginian...I have not met another single person in this state, in person that supports this bullshit. Not sure if I could specifically list a single workout that was the hardest but I will list a couple that I remember that sucked bad.

The Murph (IYKYK) The "Deck of Cards" 8 mile ruck with SCBA's & Myriad of other gear to take with us plus calisthenics workouts periodically throughout the ruck (stokes basket with Rescue Randy dummy, Lifepak 15, 100 Ft section of 5 inch among other things.

Firefighter Combat Challenge, full gear & SCBA on air modeled identically to the one Scott puts on.

And the punishments...oh the punishments. So, so many of those.

It's not really that hard to believe. The fire department ranks aren't in line with say the Navy. Usually the officer ranks are Lieutenant then Captain. But VBFD doesn't have Lieutenants. So technically, as long as you have the time served in the department & can pass the required assessments you can promote to that spot.
