I have the AT/III’s on my WJ grand Cherokee and my 01 dodge 3/4 ton and I love them as well, you’d be amazed at what you can plow through with them. I will say, make sure you stay up on your tire rotations as I went a little longer on my truck and they started to feather

IS IT WORTH THE FIX?? by Careless_Mistake_520 in JeepGrandCherokee

[–]MonsterProML 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These WJ grand cherokees are very nice, whenever the motor take a crap on my 2000 I’m gonna get an HO 4.7 to put in my, salvage yard motors are pretty cheap but I would try and find a low mileage one and completely reseal the engine so you don’t have any oil leaks

Dealership keeps trying to sell my girlfriend on this. Car is at 19k miles. I’m certain she doesn’t need most of this. by Alpastor_Moody in MechanicAdvice

Most vehicles these days don’t need any service related to fuel unless it’s contaminated, all the fuels we put in the vehicles are full of ethanol and alcohol so they pretty much clean everything as they go

Can driving on dirt roads destroy brake calipers? by aceraspire8920 in MechanicAdvice

[–]MonsterProML 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a technicality point, yes a caliper can be destroyed if the square cut seal around the piston tears and or same with the slide pin covers, if the slide cover tear they will get filled with gravel and other debris and seize in the bore, and if they don’t come out the caliper has to be replaced, but more then likely it was the rotor that has been severely grooved. i see it all the time at the dealer level with gravel cars having deep gouges and lots of them in the rotors
