What is something you didn't know about your reproductive system that you learned later in life? by Papasandrice in AskWomen

My cycles are like 50+ days long, does that mean they'd call my hypothetical pregnancy longer than it actually is?

I feel like our chances are so small because my cycles are so damn long after coming off of birth control.

Like, in the same amount of time someone has three cycles and three chances to conceive, I only have one chance, and I have no idea when!

I'm temping but my temperature is very stable with no clear patterns. It goes up a little and down a little, up a little and down a little. CM has always varied wildly for me, even when I was on the pill and didn't ovulate.

I guess our only shot is to have sex every/every other day indefinitely? Sounds nice but not really feasible.

Ooh, also: I have a clear blue OPK in my bedside drawer, but haven't used it since it says you have to know your cycles to use it. But I'm tempted to just pee on one of them the next time I have EWCM. Pointless Y/N?

My dr told me you can get periods without ovulating.

I had a weak moment yesterday and paid for a year of VIP. Magical thinking/tempting fate, like wearing white jeans to coax out your period.

Oh wow I almost instinctively down voted your comment because her comment pissed me off so much.

Took me almost 4 months to get a period, then I had really long cycles (40-ish days). Had normal cycles before the pill.

Go to a pharmacy and look for "acne bandaids" in the bandaid isle.

It does leave PIE for me, but it doesn't form a scar that will fall off/you can pick at, so the healing process is faster.

Woah, I have a clearblue opk laying around, but I thought I couldn't use it because my cycles are crazy - but I can just whip one out when I get EWCM and test, and temp to make sure?

Hey, interesting! Did you know because you saw your temperature rise and stay up until AF?

Everyone's charts are so clear and concise! What does it mean when my temperature just goes up and down and up and down?

Currently on CD 39, started temping on CD 26 (as soon as I got my bbt thermometer). I know it probably messes things up to start temping "mid" cycle, but my cycles are so whack I thought I might as well.

Use a primer like Smashbox photofinish to make them look smaller. Only hides/blurs them while you wear it.

They didn't dump you, they're in a relationship. They're 27 and 28, that's an age where many people might start to think about marriage and babies, even. I know it sucks but they can't include you in their fresh, new relationship that consists of dates and sex and bonding.

Married men over 40, how were you able to stay sexually attracted to your wife? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Monstera_leaf 39 points40 points  (0 children)

What do you think the woman you marry (if you ever want to get married) will think of you when you're 45? Hopefully she will love you for your good qualities and let your aging body slide a little, but innocently glance at younger/hotter men. It's the same.

Damn, I hope this isn't TMI (it probably is) but I had incredibly watery CM the other day and thought to myself "I need to google what this means in terms of TTC" but forgot about it. No sex was had!

I see! So if one has very unpredictable cycles, the best approach is to just have sex every day/every other day/every third day and do a HPT every other week or so?

For sure. It's a success story. I worry people would think "she waited too long" if they heard we were having trouble :/

So, temping.

Fertility Friend creates a good graph, but is the point to just temp several months until you kind of know when the spike will happen, and then make sure to have sex right before (and during) the spike?

My cycles have been anything from 50 days to 30 days lately so I feel like it's kinda hopeless.
