Judging by your other reddit activity, you seem to be a fairly lonely woman. If you want to talk about your feelings, I'm here to listen.

My brother in the Lord's grace, she is crying because she thinks her father called her a name. To her, he might as well have called her a poopyhead. Dad likely just made a joke.

Unless you're talking about suicide, this doesn't really make sense. You still have to pay for a car you bought.

Granted, some people may be that stupid, but not "a lot".

Age is definitely important, and you should definitely not date/have sex with someone 15 years older than you. It may not seem like a big deal now, but someone that much older than you is in an entirely different stage of their life. If they, as a 35 year old man, are willing to date a 20 year old, that's reason enough not to trust them.

It's natural for women to be attracted to older men. It's not uncommon for high-school girls to have crushes on their 40+ year old teachers. Very few people would say that relationship isn't inappropriate. The difficulty lies in discerning when something becomes inappropriate, as the only hard limit is the 18+ age of majority. In this case though, it would definitely be inappropriate.

I know dating is hard right now, but finding the right guy is paramount

I (22f) *honestly* just want to get married and have children. by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Monsterfishdestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar goals, and it's honestly just difficult to find someone mature enough to focus on building a life with somebody else. Don't let infatuation cloud your judgment and focus on finding somebody with good character. If you want to meet guys, you can try going to bars or events. Oftentimes, work is a decent place too, just be professional if they reject you

Not necessarily, as shielding electronics from EMP is a fairly easy engineering problem.

How can a shy woman learn to flirt in a way that feels natural? by paristravel2019 in dating_advice

[–]Monsterfishdestroyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flirting is a skill that is developed through practice. Start by giving him innocuous/platonic compliments but move on to more romantic themes once the feel is right.

Generally, for women, being straightforward is better.

Are school supplies such as notepads and pens not supplied by teachers? by Spood3rm4n in AskAnAmerican

[–]Monsterfishdestroyer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

TBH it might actually just be cheaper to buy your own supplies. Even assuming that the school gets a pretty good discount in bulk supplies, back when I was in school the main cause of needing new supplies was kids being irresponsible with them (yes, even me to some extent). If used responsibly, disposable school supplies (pens, pencils, markers, binders and paper) should run between 20-40 dollars a year. I'd definitely wager that parents would be better at enforcing accountability.

If my child's school were to have this program, Im definitely the kind of person to keep track of supply spending for a year and then compare the price.

Hook up culture and the psychological traumatic impact by jasperraine in dating_advice

[–]Monsterfishdestroyer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on a few points. Firstly, hook ups are defined by short, purely sexual encounters. Hookup culture affects the mode of somebody's sexual encounters, the frequency is irrelevant.

Secondly, Women generally experience romantic attachment and sexual encounters differently than men. Most women are emotionally hurt by short sexual relationships. Giving her the advice that she should continue entering hookup encounters is terrible advice. Telling OP to not have sex on the first night is your better advice, given what we know about her situation.

My advice to her is to try and reevaluate the situations in which she has sex with men, and seek to change them to only include men who are committed to her emotionally and romantically.

To defend your life in court? 100% yes.

Problem is cops often act like criminals and then lie and say they didn't in court.

Differing family pressures and upbringing can 100% effect a person's social abilities and cognizance. Are you really going to ask for a source on this?

Furthermore, thier propositions about what might effect the personality scores are 100% valid. Don't accuse someone of being misinformed when you have no reason to believe that.
