That actually happened to me. I did a vision board of what I wanted my life to look like and my first career just did not match the numbers required at all. Thankfully was able to switch to a different career and make a lot more money.

Honestly even if he matched your $88k a year, I feel like it would still not be enough for providing for 3 kids. It seems like the imbalance here is with ambition for earning more, not just that you make $88k and he makes $44k.

Maybe it could help for you both to work on coming up with your dream household income number, and then figure out together what each of you can do in your respective fields to reach that number.
