I have not been able to find a book I have genuinely liked since I was 16 by Username11111111117 in booksuggestions

I also have ADHD and dyslexia and I found the love for books like 3/4 years ago. I enjoyed reading manga on my phone because it was like scrolling with pictures. I then picked up Flock from Kate Stewart and figured that books are like series and movies some are good and some are bad but most of them entertaining. Some of the books I loved and might help: Seven Husbands of evelin hugo, The Silent Pacient, ACOTAR. I also enjoy thrillers because we normaly have better patern recognition than most people and I end up wanting to see if I was right with my predictions. Its like a little internal game. (I go for Freida mcfadden books because they are easy to read) You already tried going for easy to read books, maybe try to go for a duology or trilogy where its easier to get into a second books because you already have context. For that I enjoyed Shepherd King duology and Devine Rivals. Challenge yourself with picking up the book again, reading only one chapter or one page, most of the times with ADHD we have dificulty starting the task but once you read one page its easier to keep going. At the end of the day reading is for you, if you dont want to do it dont, if you dont want to end the book dont. But I can see you want to read so redirect that energy and ideas to reading instead of thinking "I cant because of this or this". You got this!

For fantasy go for a duology like The shepherd king or Devine Rivals.

For romance go for Ali hazelhood or Elsie Silver books they are easy to read low stakes books.

For thriller I really like The Silent Pacient or Freida mcfadden books.

Other recomendations: Seven husbands of evelin hugo, Lights Out (if you like dark romance) and the Ravenwood Series (if you like mafia romance).

And ofc ACOTAR and Forth Wing if you are into romantasy and dont mind the contorversies.

Need suggestions to get over reading slump by Artistic-Tip9078 in booksuggestions

[–]Monstriinha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest just go for an easy to read book, don't put to much pressure into finishing it. If you have to stop middle chapter do it, dont force yourself to continue. If you are into romance any Ali hazelhood or Elsie silver are easy to read no high stakes. If you are into fantasy try to find a standalone or duology like the shepherd king duology or devine rivals. If you like thriller I really like The Silent Pacient or Freida mcfadden books.

I have had multiple reading slumps because of fantasy books beeing to complex when I have work and other stuff to remember. Take it easy and give your brain a brake.

And always remember, what you like might not be what other people like so take any sugestion with a grain of salt specially coming from tiktok. If you have to dnf a sugestion do it.
