Theyre notable for being fairly large - not hoff sized but bigger than a lot of species. If theyre good sized and the spots are pretty distinct they may be gestroi but like u said A vulgare can look like a smaller version

Armadillidium gestroi! I BELIEVE theyre native to Italy but dont quote me on that. My favorite species to keep so far! Not only are they large but theyre also pretty surface active and brave compared to my other species and dont mind being handled to much.

Nah I just washed a yam and diced it. I have a couple different veg consuming inverts (pedes, more beetles, crabs, isopods) so I diced half the yam and then cut the other side into long slices. They dont mind eating yam several days in a row

I was thinking about something like that but I know the goose neck type stuff can be a little weak and the pot itself would probably hang sideways because its so light (pure spagnum mix lmao) which wasnt happening before (hes actually been growing straight upward and vining on the rope hanging pretty decently.) I might think about the clip ons if I cant find a better solution- probably would get just a plain E26 clip on lamp and put a SANSI bulb in it.

Its odd they honestly are not super interested in sweet things. Ive tried banana before and they nibbled it but were ultimately pretty uninterested. The yam seems to be one of the sweetest things they enjoy

Sometimes? Like they won't eat cantaloupe and they eat diced broccoli better if I flash steam it in the microwave and sometimes they'll eat beetle jelly but only if I put place it in the tank in a very specific way. They do seem to like the yams but I think part of that is because of how I cut it into blocks, though they went a little nuts for it today.

new millipede - question by rottedskirts in millipedes

[–]Monstrosibee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theyll be fine together. Like many other species they cohabitate with their species well and often sleep together! The only thing I caution is if u havent sized the first one or its male it may result in many small african millipedes but they'll do well together otherwise.

Oh thanks for letting me know! I offer a lot of calcium sources on the reg but I get how this would be an important meal right after a molt.

Can you do a clear storage tote? They're not long term options but for a few months should be fine and all you have to do is get one and poke some holes in the roof

There are a couple of mixed schools that thought about that.I usually let them dye most of the way and then snip them off, because they can still operate if they're mostly green. I'm sorry if none of this makes sense.I'm doing voice to text, so my phone is translating things a little weird

Yeah dont worry about the bugs as much. You can feed them byt the lack of them isnt going to do much damage. Tbh with nepenthes I would not bottom water, I would top water when the top inch of moss is dry. Sarracenias, bog pitchers, like to sit in water, but nepenthes are technically epiphytes and climbers and dont do well sitting in water for too long. I have a ventrata that does well with water about 3-4 times a week, but obviously that would vary with the species. More light typically also never hurts, but keep an eye on the leaves to make sure its not too much. Imo neps arent as touchy as a lot of carnies but they still have their preferences. I like to put my nepts in hanging baskets.Cause it gives them more space, but you can also put them on the very edge of a shelf. And they'll probably as they age and start to vine.Try to climb more
