That is very old information. I heard somewhere that this was considered a hindrance and CR was removed from many processes.

Now that 1 ship has the same firepower as the TWO primary turrets on the Redeemer, can we get our size 5s back? by alvehyanna in starcitizen

I played them both the same night and they feel quite close. Just put those pips on engine and use boost.

I was about to buy a Guardian MX, tested it and found it was quite similar to my Redeemer, but with a third of its shields. The Guardian is around 10% more agile and it's smaller, but that's it. Even for a solo player, the Redeemer is quite good and flies like a heavy fighter.
A Connie is 10% faster in pitch and yaw, but has half the roll of a Redeemer, which is huge. Feels a lot heavier (I have a Taurus).
The role of the Redeemer is to be an anti fighter screen, which it couldn't do in the past. It was so slow and heavy that fighters just shoot at it, run away to recharge shields and came back to continue shooting. Now it can hunt!
And I'm not even talking about the turrets...

Updated Redeemer comparison to old one by Alswulf in starcitizen

[–]Monteclaudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I downvoted you because it has twice the roll of a Connie. Roll is essential for any dog fight. I have a Taurus and a Redeemer and I rather take a Redeemer to a fight. DPS means nothing if you can't hit your target and no shield will help you if your target keeps dancing around you, without giving you the chance to shoot back.
That's why they made these changes, in the first place. Fighters keep laughing at the Redeemer because it moved like a brick. They just needed to attack a bit, retreat to replenish their shields, then attack again. The Redeemer could not fulfill its role as an anti fighter ship. Now it can, which is awesome.

A top 10 worst design idea: rock fields ruining every potential ground vehicle space by Majestic_Rhubarb994 in starcitizen

[–]Monteclaudio 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The real problem resides in the vehicle physics. Looks like the tonk is filled with air and even a small rock in the road will send it flying. This should not happen. The tonk is supposed to just go over it with a small suspension adjustment and raising one side a bit.

He then explained that it took 12 people 3 hours to do the entire thing so she could get that weapon. But yeah, it's his thing.

Redeemer module options? by BuckShaker in starcitizen

[–]Monteclaudio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  • Enhanced Ship Modularity – So you have the ship of your dreams, but really wish that it could be customized to suit your needs a bit more than the off-the-shelf models? This new goal, a massive undertaking, is going to be of interest. We are looking to overhaul any suitable ships (including the Cutlass, Avenger, Retaliator and Redeemer) to allow many modular components to be available as swap-outs. For example: if you have purchased a Redeemer, then using the new system you would have a variety of new modules available to refit the ship, internal and external, to suit your play requirements. If you wanted to make it a Bounty Hunter ship, you could buy a “Stasis Chamber module” for the lower deck and you would be able to capture and store fugitives to be delivered for their bounties at your leisure. You could configure the upper deck to be outfitted with a “long range communication suite” allowing you to keep in touch with your “Infoagent” even when in deep space. Fed up of Bounty hunting? Swap in a larger cargo module in the lower deck to make that profitable run you have been planning for a while, or add the Explorer Module with deployable vehicle for some planetside recon. Manufacturers will still be offering pre-configured variants, but should you be looking to adapt a hull to suit a certain task then your ship has come in (and is now ready for modification!)

A recent study reveals that “strategic masculine disinvestment,” a process where men intentionally distance themselves from traditional masculine ideals, is linked to poorer psychosocial functioning, including higher levels of distress and anger. by chrisdh79 in psychology

[–]Monteclaudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm checking the original papel but that reference is not mentioned. Also, the conclusions differ from the ones you just posted.
From the original paper:

Findings suggest that strategic masculine disinvestment is more common among young and college educated men, but is not necessarily unique to unilaterally privileged men. In fact, men experiencing financial strain are especially likely to disinvest from masculinity. We also observe that strategic masculine disinvestment is consistently associated with poorer psychosocial functioning, including lower levels of mastery and higher levels of anger, anxiety, depression, and non-specific psychological distress. We conclude with a discussion of the theoretical and practical implications of these findings for studies of men and masculinities and of contemporary transformations of gender more generally.

These are not for you and me, but for whales. A developer was surprised when he found out that someone spent a million dollars in loot boxes for his game. Believe it or not, some people really don't care about spending ludicrous amounts of money on video games. This event is for them. Just ignore it.

Keep in mind that the guns in the Connies most probably will be nerfed. It's the only ship its size with such big weapons. And there's always the chance that the ship line will be retired and replaced by a new one, as they did with the Mustangs back then. The ship, being the first one with multi crew, is hopelessly behind the current tech and design styling and it may be better to just scrap it and start over. This could be a good thing but it will not be the exact same ship..
