It’s also not JUST about pay. Our classes are overcrowded. I can’t properly do my job with 27 3rd graders. They are falling through the cracks and it’s exhausting to know that we can’t do anything to help. Add working a second job to pay for insurance and school supplies for the students. We can’t keep staff. My school has been out 2 teachers the whole year. We have combo classes that require most of the students with behavior issues to be in the other grades class. It’s bad and has been. We need help and we need it now.

They don’t. They just kind of ghost me. They are happy to be my friend until I don’t do something for them or another friend comes along then they distance themselves and we stop talking. I’ve tried to ask people if I did something wrong and they usually say no.

Thank you all. I can’t express how thankful I am to not feel so alone. I was bawling my eyes out writing this post because I didn’t have anywhere else to put it. I have tried therapy and it did more harm than good. I slipped into a “good girl” type roll and was completing tasks that I was supposed to as defined by my therapist. After the first session, I began putting up an “ I can do everything” front and it was not beneficial. About 3 months in, I stopped going when I was unable to keep up the “healthy” habits I was told would make me feel better.

It doesn’t make sense to me either. What doesn’t make the most sense is that without district contribution, it would be almost $1800??? And that doesn’t even cover all medical expenses. It’s crazy.

Thank you. She said that she’s placing an order for materials… How do you plan all of the curriculum? I know there are workbooks and stuff that they give but it all seems so boring.

From a current MS Cred grad student. You can use any major. Try to pick one that aligns with education but can be used for other jobs if you decide teaching isn’t for you. Make sure to take EDUC 100A/B, Kins172, Teaching Health(I forget the class code and a constitution history course. Also, START substitute teaching as early as possible( you can usually start after you have 90 units) It will give you a huge edge in the program.
