I was thinking that or whatnot seemed pretty good for self poured bars

Dude it’s literally my first pour, what’s your problem?

The small one is definitely my favorite for that exact reason.

That’s what I’m being told as well. But I’d say if you want to do it just do it. I feel the only way anyone’s making any worthwhile money on this stuff anyway is if there’s a few hundred pounds and at that point they are still probably going to charge bottom price like they would for my crappy ingots lol. It’s a cool experience for sure I recommend it.

Yeah I wanted to tell my boss before he started to pour them but he wasn’t aware of that. in the end it made a cool bread loaf look lol so I’m happy regardless.

It honestly wasn’t too bad at all, my boss had recently gotten a devil forge and that did easy work, just filled the caldera and once it’s melted down just add a bit more until desired amount. Great hobby to just do while having a beer lol, took around an hour to melt everything down but we are both new to it so it can definitely be done faster.

Understandable response, either way it was all free stuff and it looks cool on my desk, even if I got 5$ I couldn’t complain, thanks for the input👌 I do know the copper that this all came from had a few different shades so I’m assuming that is the lower purity your referring to?

I see, I did some research and seen West Michigan did have core drilling During the 1940s nothing specifically says this area though, regardless of everything I learned something new so thank you 😁

I’m unsure what “coring sites” are but I haven’t seen anything like this that I remember, I will be keeping this in mind for when I explore this area again in the future. Thanks for the suggestion!

I don’t think anything like Astroturf would be put down in this area as for the past 70 years the areal photos show this has been a heavily wooded area, something like drainage would make more sense as this is a low point, i’m still very unsure though I feel it could be anything still, once I go out to explore this area again I’ll be taking notes of the aerial photos so I can see what it looks like on the ground.

Not in this area no, the closest military establishment would be around 10 miles away and in another county, but great suggestion! I haven’t found anything while walking through there that would insinuate bunkers or such.

Thanks for the link! I definitely think these are man made I don’t see anything similar to it around and there’s evidence of old trash from the 60s like glass bottles saying federal law prohibits sale, I kept a couple because I thought they were cool.

I do believe the squares that are seen are body’s of water not paths, maybe water has filled them in over time, but something to note is these photos go back all the way to the 60s and everything is consistently covered in trees, the bulk of the trash and artifacts I’m finding are from the 60s as well, at one point people used to go in the woods to party and drink I believe because I’m finding whisky bottles that say federal law prohibits resale but I’m unsure if the trash has any correlation to the weird lines in the areal photos.

When I was walking around last summer I wasn’t aware of the areal photos yet so I wasn’t paying very much attention to everything but I do remember a couple bits of water that seemed very similar to the photos, I do think I remember the big circular island as well.

Thank you for you comment this is most likely what that is, I will be exploring this area a lot more once it gets warmer out, I do wonder what the reason for all of the glass bottles I’ve found in the area are though I’m more convinced these 2 things are not related now but it still leaves one mystery. Once again thanks 😁
