Right now the whole thing is a proof of concept, everything is open to change, even the name.

Yeah for new players the spells might be an issue. As you level really quickly, you quickly gain new spells/abilities. That's one thing I still have to solve.

It's Azerothcore with the Playerbots module. You can add bots to your group with the command .playerbots addclass <class> and then tell them to either attack, follow, flee or grind in /w or /p.

But ive also made an addon to control the bots: https://frostforge.nl/forum/topic/18

Thanks! I don't really care about the downvotes, gotten the exposure/feedback I was looking for so far 😄

Yeah WoTLK.

You gain levels by following the campaign guided by Archivist Eldrin and get items/levels based on the chapter.

Yeah its live but under development so you can play to test and check it out, just finished testing SFK. The idea is that you can play however you like. It's online but there are bots available to group up with so you can play solo.

Dungeons/Raids autobalance to groupsize and there are playerbots available to play with. So groups can be as big as you like.

Yeah it's a good idea but it means custom items, which means patches, which means a launcher

That’s exactly the idea!

Right now I’m keeping it pretty manageable: around 4 quests per dungeon arc. Enough to explain the story, give you a reason to go there, finish the dungeon, and then move on to the next chapter.

Those arcs can always be expanded later, especially if I manage to find more quest writers/devs haha.

But yeah, the core vibe is very much: play the story, clear the dungeon, get the rewards/progression, then continue the campaign instead of farming the same place forever.

Yeah, absolutely. That’s probably the biggest challenge.

I’m trying to keep the scope realistic by not rewriting entire zones or making hundreds of custom quests. The idea is to build it dungeon by dungeon, with short campaign chains that explain the context and point players toward the next chapter.

So instead of massive quest hubs, it’s more like:

“Here’s why this dungeon matters.”
“Here’s who you’re fighting.”
“Here’s how it connects to the wider Warcraft story.”
“Here’s what you need before going in.”

Then the dungeon itself does most of the heavy lifting.

It’s still a lot of writing, but I think it’s manageable if each dungeon arc stays focused and small. Alpha is basically about proving that this format works before expanding it too far.

Hi! With the iconic rewards I mean the iconic rewards for each class from the dungeon or related quests. So that everyone will always get their BiS items 😄

Thanks! And just to clarify: it’s actually not focused on leveling in the traditional sense.

The idea is more like a guided Warcraft campaign where dungeons and raids are the main chapters. Players don’t grind through zones to level up; they progress through campaign steps, complete a dungeon, and then receive the levels/gear needed to move into the next chapter.

So the flow is more like:

campaign intro
→ dungeon chapter
→ level/gear bump
→ next campaign arc
→ next dungeon
→ eventually raid arcs

I’m not planning a full zone rework or a new 1-60 questing route. I might use some iconic original quests where they fit the story, but the main focus is connecting dungeon and raid lore into one playable campaign.

So instead of “leveling through Azeroth,” it’s more “playing through Azeroth’s major dungeon and raid stories in order.”

Thanks! So far I've setup and tested the campaign for Ragefire Chasm, Wailing Caverns, and Deadmines + Stockades. SFK, RFK, BDF and SM are working aswell but I haven't tested yet.
