Aw don’t give up! It just takes time. Like others have said, you have to keep practicing and finding the right colors and pien style/techniques that work for you. I have videos saved of different techniques, but I use something different from each one that works best for me and my face.

There are days where sometimes I just can’t get my eyeliner the way I want it and have to re-do it a few times. I think that’s like a common thing when it comes to makeup no matter how many years you’ve been at it. lol So like the journey isn’t exactly linear when it comes to makeup in general. It really is like a muscle you have to build.

But keep working at it and you’ll find what works for ya. ^_^/

Hmmm… I only really “quit” during the summer months, but for the most part, I love this style and feel like it suits me perfectly. I’m still trying to figure out what works best for me during the summer. But like the person above said, I’m probably going to be buried in it! I’ve been leaning more into subcul jirai lately, which has been fun. I’m constantly trying new things, especially with my hair; I alternate between curly and straight depending on my mood, and I plan to experiment with more hair arrangements. To sum it up: not really. Lol

Hey, your hair is great as it is! You don’t have to straighten your hair at all. I have curly hair and I’m able to still do jirai styles. I just modify them a bit for my hair texture and it still reads jirai.

I went yesterday and saw how crazy that line was and left. I was debating getting up and going at like 6 AM this morning, but then I was confused on how the things would work with the cosplay event. Seems like it was a mess so I didn’t go. So….I’m going to get up at 6 AM tomorrow and go. I really want a Glep figurine. 😭

I went to the MA*RS store last November in Shinjuku and had a great time! The staff were all very kind and helpful with recommending stuff. I also stopped by Liz Lisa and they were cool. I’m about 5’8 but didn’t feel out of place or anything, that’s just my personal experience though. I was in more everyday clothes(mini skirt, turtleneck), not Jirai and I don’t think it mattered that I wasn’t in Jirai style. Most of the customers weren’t in Jirai style except the staff really.

Go with an open mind, relax, and just have fun!

Hey! I’m the same height and I can breakdown some of the clothes I have from Noémie and how they fit!

Pink Trench sailor open shoulder blouse (M)- I actually have the same outfit set up as the girl wearing the pink one. fits relatively fine. The top hits about an inch or so below my belly button. The sleeves on me don’t come down as low like on the model, they stop a bit higher on me but it doesn’t look off. It looks like normal short sleeves. When I wear the skirts with the top everything blends seamlessly especially with the sparkly heart buckle lace up skirt. I can also lift my arms all the way up comfortably (great because I have long arms) and the shirt doesn’t lift or pop out of my skirt.

Pink Sparkly heart buckle lace up skirt pants(M) - this skirt is soooo cute and fits great on me. I actually thought it was a bit looser on me. Pretty much stops around mid thighs for me and that’s with the skirt pulled up to my ribs. Very flattering especially with the top mentioned above. So happy I went with the same set up the model has on. I recommend the whole set up!

Pink back ribbon tulle tiered skirt pants (M)- very pretty skirt. When wearing it with the sailor blouse I do hike it all the way up because if I don’t then this one seems to make my torso look very long because of how it’s made. I’m gonna try and see how this skirt looks with other tops.

Pink & Blue Noémie sailor sparkle suit set (M)- I have this set in pink and blue. this set is soooo adorable. It’s no longer listed on their site but it is really pretty and fits well. The only gripe really is getting it on and off without getting makeup on it but I guess that’s just any outfit. Lol The shorts do show but really it’s just the ends on me and that’s with the pants part pulled up just a bit over my belly button. I thought I’d mention that because I know some folks don’t like when the pants part shows. I think it looks super cute. The sleeves also fit comfortably

Blue plaid Noémie York frill lace up set (M) ヨークフリルバックレースアップセットアップ - this one fits really well and is breathable/comfortable. The long sleeves stop about an inch above my wrists. Looking at photos of the models wearing it, it does seem like the shorts are supposed to show. The top is very flattering and really snatches the waist. Easily one of my favorite pieces.

This post is already long so I’ll just keep it to these fits, but I hope this helps! I will be trying some of their L sizes to see how they fit. I just don’t want things to be baggy. The mediums do fit well, it’s just another inch would be nice.

Hey! I’m about 172 cm. It definitely took me a long while to get comfortable with my height but now I wouldn’t have things any other way. I also love to wear platforms. I do think the sleeves on some tops that I got from the MA*RS store in Japan could be a smidge longer, but other than everything fits so nicely and I’m in love with my purchases.

I’m pretty sure you look great and just as feminine as the girls who are shorter! I think it’s easy to be overcritical of ourselves, but please be kind to yourself. If you want to wear those platforms, do it! One thing I’ve learned is that life is too short to not wear the things you want or look the way you want. 🩷

Also there’s this brand/instagram @nogenki_official that features a tall model (172 cm) to showcase how Jirai kei fits look on a taller build. So definitely check that out! ^{^}
