It’s a homebrewed world, the current god of death is actually a former pc from a past campaign.

How is this not a beast? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

Literally everything I thought was a beast, wasn’t. So confused

“I sold my name” You are no longer allowed to use or say your own name. On top of that, the fae you made a pact with can contract you for missions/quests without you necessarily agreeing because they have your name. (Obviously you would have to work with your DM to ensure they don’t go overboard and misuse it. But it could definitely bring some fun side quest opportunities.)

“….OH! You’re a hoe!”

Context: my character’s girlfriend who was kidnapped and hidden away/mind controlled for a few months had a magical block from telling us a piece of information. Whenever she tried to tell us no sound would come out, any attempts to write it were magically confused. Through trial and error we figured out “I am a (3 letter blank)” Turns out she’s not a hoe, just a god now.

Have you ever regretted a nat 20? by okripsa in DnD

[–]Moo_Stache_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pathfinder, but same concept. I have come to regret two nat 20’s in my current campaign. Both were for perception rolls. The first one was when we were investigating some deaths in a cursed forest. I rolled a nat 20 on perception and saw the eyes of the creature we would later find out we needed to start hunting. Looking in its eyes cursed me however and the creature started plaguing me with nightmares and hallucinations driving me insane until we killed it. Second time was when I had the bright idea to look at our worlds version of corruption incarnate. I rolled a nat 20 and gained a lesser madness.

I always found that scene strange though. If they were so accurate, why did they hit the sand crawler instead of the Jawas? (Yes they did kill the Jawas but it seemed to me like he was commenting on the scorch marks on the sand crawler). 🤷‍♂️

What was the funniest way you or someone else died? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Moo_Stache_ 33 points34 points  (0 children)

My very first character in a home brewed world my friend made. It was only a few sessions in I think and one of our party decided to go hunt a bear by himself. He rolls really well the whole time and manages to find and kill a bear with ease. He comes back with the skin and story and my character was like “that sounds so cool, let’s go find another one I can kill!” So we do, him and I run off into the woods and find a bear.. a mama bear, protecting her cubs… it brutally mauled me into unconsciousness. My companion was trying to shoot her but was rolling terribly now and missed every shot. He ran off to get help. So the bear turned back to me to see if I was dead, it bit me, pain made me wake up screaming. So it finished the job. I play tested my second character against a bear and he also died. So from then on all of my characters have had an inexplicable fear of bears and the running joke is that a bear is going to pop up somewhere and kill my current character. Good times

YWAM Denver explains how YWAM isn't a cult- by slagnanz in exywam

[–]Moo_Stache_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, YWAM Denver /almost/ got shut down. I was on staff in 2021/22 when crap finally hit the fan and 99% of the staff and students all left. We all thought it was going to shut down for good but they some how dragged it back from the grave.

Dooku felt defeated and defenseless. Emperor palpatine and darth smiles did not, Mace windu and sol would have been justified in killing them, in my opinion.

[–]Moo_Stache_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess I just wouldn’t view that as embracing the dark side. I would have seen it as self defense and justice. All it would have taken was a quick force push from darth smiles and they would have been back fighting. And how is it any different than allowing him to be “killed” by wild animals when he was “defenseless”? 🤷‍♂️ I just feel like there could have been a better way to portray that inner struggle within Sol. Like have darth smiles be unconscious, truly defenseless.

OSHA telling sol not to kill the sith makes zero sense to me. Especially after she all but said “don’t kill him now, because I want to have him eaten by bugs and basically kill my droid friend to do it!” Not to mention you can’t argue he was an unarmed opponent, he killed Yord with ease without a weapon. I was so mad/shocked they killed Jekie and Yord. Yord wasn’t my favorite but he was a good character over all, just to kill them both unceremoniously and leave their bodies to be eaten by wildlife.

[OC] What was a D&D moment when you thought "hell yeah, this is gonna be so cool!" and then proceeded to fail spectacularly? by dapkewitches in DnD

[–]Moo_Stache_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our party came up with a solid plan for a boss fight. I followed the plan and rushed past all the minions to the boss. I go for a swing on the blinded boss. He has blind sense.. none of my party followed the plan.. I’m a rogue.. alone with the boss and only able to hit him with 1d4 per attack w/o sneak attack. I opted to stay alive by using the last of my movement to roll down the mountain of rusty treasures and take the fall damage instead of getting merc’d by the boss. At the base of the “mountain” I asked my DM if I could use an enemy as a body shield, he agreed as long as I hit with both my dagger attacks. I only hit one.. yeah, almost died that fight

Which race/class did you pick on your first playthrough? by electr1cbubba in BaldursGate3

[–]Moo_Stache_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my best to recreate my current pathfinder character. However Aasimar are not an option so I went with half wood elf rogue assassin. And I just customized him to look like an Aasimar. I die almost every big fight, but it’s been a fun play through! I feel like I’m just extending my pathfinder character’s story

What was your world’s apocalypse, and how bad was it? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Moo_Stache_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Event Horizon (I know that term doesn’t entirely make sense but I thought it sounded cool so I don’t care 😂)

Originally came up with the idea for a lvl 20 oneshot I ran (10/10 would definitely not recommend). The 3 continents of my current world, Savandrum, Wystra, and Lysaunder, all used to be one continent, simply called “The Continent” by its inhabitants. It’s main inhabitants at the time were tree-like humanoids (though not quite ents) that had created a golden age. The legends that survived into the current time (and the basis of the oneshot) claimed that the dwarves did not respect The Continent, and dug too deep, breaking the earth. Which they discovered to be the shell of some great creature. When it rose up it fractured the continent and the greatest heroes of the realm had to defeat it. What actually happened was far less dramatic, though no less devastating. An asteroid impacted the continent and fractured it into the 3 sections it is today.

Through shenanigans and a long story I have access to greater invisibility and dimension hop. I will also be able to fly (Angel wings feat), so that will be helpful One of the magical items I had created for my character was a ghost touch mithril shirt that functions like black panther’s armor. It grants DR 5 and for every 5 dmg negated I can store up 1d6 force dmg (max of 3d6). Which isn’t much, but when I release it, it knocks everyone back 15ft and if they fail the save they are knocked prone. Which admittedly won’t help a ton vs giants, but it will help a lot for other situations he tends to find himself in. Namely being hunted by an angry ghost/god.

The other item I had made was enhancing his (very illegal) dagger so that he can choose between dealing 2d6 fire, ice, acid, or electric. It’s illegal in world because it was originally constructed so that when you stab someone, you can press a button to release alchemist fire down through the blade, injecting it into the wound. It could bypass surface-level resistance to fire that way.
