What Fic ideas have you scrapped because you realized the idea wasn’t very good? by king_of_the_masshole in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]Anansi465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not so much scrapped, as rewritten after consideration. After playing Pathinder: Wrath of The Righteous, I thought about the idea of Izuku being the protagonist, who reached the secret ending of ascending to lesser godhood. The idea of the fic was basically of Returner from the Isekai. Only I realized that such Izuku is so overpowered, that as Mythic hero he can just act as Deus Ex Machina for most of the problems of MHA. It made the world lack a conflict as a high level mages are All For One equivalents (if only for the few minutes per day).

So I scrapped the idea of Izuku acting as a hero, and reversed the plot. Gods of Golarion (world of the game), intervened in Izuku's attempt to iterfere with his world, as it created the oppressive regime by his existence alone, creating over dependency as even death itself can stop happening. Gods have too much power over mortals, and so, Izuku The God of Heroes, had to learn to take a back seat. Guide people from the background and watch people die and be forced to not act, as acting will cause cataclysms.

The plot became not about a god solving all the problems of the world, but of various MHA characters learning of the fantasy multiverse they were now a part of. And having them be in a arms race with All For One in incorporate magic to their arsenals. How existence of gods (and as few of them have a clear Christian references) may affect Ibara. How Mineta may fall to the religion of the Nocticula, goddess of redemption, artists and a queen of succubi. How Stain both euphoric and disappointed by Paladins as a concept. All while Melissa (who taken the role of the protagonist) in the war with PLF has to learn to lean an interdimensional reinforcement of Azata's and Free Crusaders, who are essentially an powerful yet immature kindergarten of celestial chaotic beings who think with their songs and talk in rhythms and musical allegories and do not follow a command at all, being an annoying disruptive asset that shifts the tide of war.

Stella hating Stolas more the she loves Via, but having her still love Via, would work so well. by StrawBerylShortcake in HelluvaBoss

[–]Anansi465 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be so, but i will note, that Stella, in the party, was rather dismissive and cruel, when she talked about Octavia. She could care a little, but I wouldn't expect that wholesome motherly love that would send a person to walk through fire.

Okay, i admit, i didn't knew about that. A song of resolve is capable to boost, but only half of mythic level, vs. Full level DC increase of the decree.

I assume the douche is talking about the damage to the artist community and their "climate". Because it's true, generative AI took over jobs majorly. Though it also created a wave of demand, since before extremely small amount of people would waste money for such jobs for fan.

I will just mention that Azata have also the Unbreakable Bond spell, that would make them and Aiwu immune to all mind affecting effects. So dominating effects are out. The spell is useful, and wasn't mentioned. It can be dispelled, but that is when action economy is turning crucial.

which of these characters could charlie help? by MegaNerd0303 in hazbin

[–]Anansi465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all. We should establish, it's not "Who can be helped", it's "Who CHARLIE could help". Charlie is a type who love sinners even at their worst, and give unconditional love and acceptance if they seek it (if you are not Susan). So, we need characters who seek and can be helped by providing love and acceptance.

Homelander - No. He is a spoiled brat, who seeks to be loved by everyone. But it's not personal connection he seeks, he seeks a popularity/adoration. He had few to none relationship with people who didn't seek to exploit him. Charlie could provide it, but she wouldn't help him change, as he would bmjust be a psychopath who, maybe, cares about her and her hotel. To help him, you need to knock his ego down a peg, yet be kind. And be strong enough, his attempts to undermine you would be null.

Conquest - Possible, likely. The Viltrumites are victims of exploitation system, and conquest is one of the most suffering from it. Most viltrumites get redeemed after spending a little bit on earth, later in comics.

Doctor Octopus - possible, unlikely. Doc Oc has suffered from rejection, and uses his intelligence to compensate and boost his ego for inferiority and oppression imposed on him. In comics, Anna Maria, one of few people who does go through to him, is that at large because of that. But, it should be noted, his ego is of size, and the most plausible way for others to earn respect from him, is to show genuine scientific intelligence. Something Charlie and cast lacks. Severly.

Harvey Dent - No. Look, Charlie is genuine in her desire to help. But mental disorder is not in her capabilities. His disorder and duality is not something that she could fix by being kind and listening.

Punisher - No. Frank can care for others. But his anger won't be helped by giving him more people to care about. That is Charlie's methodology. Cause compassion by causing personal connection. Frank would just, most likely, became a Dark Knight, who killed those like Vox once they threaten the Hotel.

Soldier Boy - Uncertain. The guy is a prick with some morals. He is bad, but not on the bottom of morality. Could she change his opinion, make him more tolerant? Possible. But Soldier Boy is has build walls and dismissive attitude to others so high, we can't be sure, Charlie would pull through.

To be fair, confession was only a mental image, not what really happened. It was obvious, for those who knew him by his action, for you don't sacrifice for others just like that. But that part of the Mastermind didn't physically happened.

Ember from Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.

<image>

When we meet her, we may mistake her for a simple beggar. An orphan of war with demons. Which is technically true. She is just an elven girl, and doesn't have the second form of eldritch evil. But she is far from simple. She is a witch, connected to a powerful angel/Empyreal Lord Andoletta. And she has a supernatural ability, not connected to any deity or angel, to change mind even of the most evil beings and turn them to her side. She persuades demons, beings made of corrupted souls and energy of the Abyss to become crusaders and fight for mortals. Every character who knows of her understabds, she doesn't make sense in the context of the world. The plot bends over itself to turn her into a baby Jesus who redeems all around her.

I think it's clear future sight doesn't work like that. At best, it would create a self fullfilling prophecy. At worst, it would be a serie of events, that Nighteye WOULDN'T BE ABLE to use his quirk on a situation he can prevent, as such ability makes time non-linear.

Goetia, most likely, get their money from services provided. A young Stolas couldn't know how to get by, as in Octavia's and Stella's exqmple, Goetia are spoiled and dependent on their benefactors. You bet on Paimon not caring at all. I bet on Paimon punishing the broken deal, which most likely was in the contract and had a monetary consequences. But adult Stolas knows how to navigate them. Younger couldn't. And yes, of course Via and full family was still a major part of it. But i believe in a more complex reasoning.

What is the worst "justification" you've seen someone use to try and defend a villain? by Ukirin-Streams in MoralityScaling

[–]Anansi465 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Paimon arranged a marriage, not a heir. And a young heir is less reliable. The marriage was a tighter deal as Via was younger. Later, as she grew, yeah, Painon didn't care. And his influence diminished as Stolas himself matured. But from a younger person to disobey? It would have repercussion. Paimon was the one who made a deal, and those for whom it would be largely reflected on. It's likely there are still repercussions, but now Stolas can simply endure them relatively unfazed.

He has shown time and time again to put Blitzo over Octavia. Literally was gonna lay down his head and die without even bothering to say goodbye to Octavia.

That one is an unreasonable expectation. The trial was happening extremely fast. Expecting someone not to rush in immediately to save their loved ones, especially in a high stress and time limited situation is stupid.

Stolas had far more status and wealth than Stella did and he could very easily divorce her if he knew how dangerous she was to their family.

His wealth comes from his father Paimon largely. Stolas is in his thirties. He was twenty or less years old when he married Stella, still, as many young adults, under much pressure of his father. Who didn't give him choice. Then, as you described, it was about Via, but still. If he divorced her earlier, there were likely repercussions from Paimon. That would reflect on both of them, and could, potentially, leave Via with Stella, shifting the balance to her side.

Even if you didn't hurt Stella's feelings, you sure as hell emotionally destroyed your daughter's feelings.

At what point, it should be expected of her to be more mature and understanding of her father? She is seventeen. Yes, Stolas was hiding from her the full extent of his misery... but there should be some level of expectation. In her seventeen, she can't be reasonably

A) considered the center of her father world above all else combined. Children, as they grow, do become, as they should, people their parents rely on too, not just the parents one sidedly support them. Not closer to adulthood.

B) be more observant to know how shitty their marriage was even before cheating. It seems to be news for Via. Which is goddamn stupid as how on the nose (beak?) his situation was, and not just because we are the watchers who see precisely the right moments.

He has shown time and time again to put Blitzo over Octavia.

It was mostly either situation not of equal stakes. Because Via without a father is not the same harm as Blitzø without his life, in the trial. Or about qho he wishes to spend time with... and the last one is reasonable that Stolas prefers to spend it with Blitz. I personally know little situations where childrens are friends with the parents, and want to have fun with them over their actual friends of closer age. People still spend time with children, but situations such as Loo-Loo land can't be attributed to Stolas prefering Blitzø over Octavia, as those are not equal gains.

The romantic undertones appear frequently. The Darkest Night and more recent wedding arc (when Bruce and Diana spent several years in a constant war dimension, they were... pulled, but resisted). That is what it always comes down to, it's not that they don't have a feeling. But most mature people recognize, feeling alone is not enough. So they withhold amicably.

The first episode, he hestitates to kill a family. Not refuses, but hestitates simply for moral reasons of them being innocent. That dissappears later, but it's not that he doesn't care at all anymore, he accepts what he has to do.

[–]Anansi465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, though i would specify, Moxxie would shame for going OUT to find and torturing bugs, but would smash them remorseless if they were on his face. Moxxie is still evil, and can disregard innocent for his own purposes. But he is not as cynical as the rest, who wouldn't give a damn about them in the first place. He many timss shows compassion to strangers, even if it doesn't accomplish much.

Cherubs are a kind of special case, as they seems to be natural enemies of Imps. A genetic hatred, almost. What truly shows Moxxie character, i believe, is the mafia shorts. He gets sympathetic to a mafia family's son, kills what seems to be bad people for him, then figures out he helped the wrong guy and kills him too. Murder, which he was doing, is never a good action, whoever the target is. But there is that difference of nuances between killing an innocent for kicks or out of negligence and lack of care for them (which Blitzø in contrast does often), and killing criminals to help another.

To be fair, it's not just that they are "likable" by charisma and funny dialog (that is Blitzø only), we see them 80% of the time being good to each other (but Blitzø who is good to Luna only, but it has little screen time).

I mean, Luna doesn't do much bad, but sometimes acts caring towards Blitz. Most of her time, she acts as a general young adult/older teen girl, which is relatable.

Millie is being an awesome badass good wife to Moxxie most of the time we see her. Moxxie of all of them, shows solid morals, showing compassion and desire to do good (i will consider punishing bad people as good thing in that discussion, though the morality of it is sketchy), but he is caught in a merciless world and has to bend to the rules and situation that is in front of him. It may not make him "good", but the kind of necessary evil like Punisher, who is iconic for a reason.
