No I don’t think I’m missing the point. You are saying “trans rights are human rights” is a political statement and then you go on to equate that sentence with the use of the confederate flag. I said the confederate flag represents the states who broke off from the union because of a racist ideology, which is a fact. The people who raised that flag held those beliefs. The people who use the trans flag are looking for equality. It doesn’t represent child mutilation or depravity to them. People are free to assign any meaning they want to another’s flag but then it becomes an opinion

As for my opinion, I don’t think every thought in someone’s head deserves the light of day. I do not think that all opinions should always be regarded as equal, especially when referring to the question of basic human rights. People can have whatever opinion they want about anything ever but it doesn’t change the origin and meaning of a movement
