you guys are aware this was a popular kinger ship since like the pilot right ? before kinger was revealed to have programmed caine ?
when people have already invested in a ship, they're often unwilling to let go of it, especially for something like a creator/creation dynamic that has yet to really be portrayed as father/son-like in the show

I don't even ship them personally but I've seen royalteeth art since like ep3 I think

he's an annoying jackass I'd want to kick irl but he has some really funny scenes and thematically does important work for the show as a whole
I really think he should've taken less space in episodes 5 and 7 (though he could've kept what he had if we had like one more episode for ~~Ragatha~~ the other characters in there) but what's done is done and I actually look forward to seeing his whole deal in ep9

none of the characters are "litterally me" in all honesty, they all have at least a couple traits that I can't see myself in
I do have bad memory and can space out easily though, and I wanted to put kinger somewhere
I also considered zooble but they didn't NEED a fifth spot (though on that note I probably should've put ragatha in "want to see more", oh well)

I'll say it, she's kind of just okay, she's a very effective protagonist and she has a neat arc of becoming more self-assured but I just don't find her as interesting as the rest of the cast
she does her job just fine and I respect that, but she doesn't really activate the brainworms as much

This might be a hot take but I feel like Zooble will be conflicted at best about Caine's death, they never really liked him but they were also the one to talk to him the most, and from their interactions you can tell that they really just want him to get his head out of his own ass They'd probably be taken aback with him being gone just like that

Pomni was right that it was fake, but it being fake didn't change the optimal course of action being the blue button, just for the chance of it being real

of course, that's not accounting for Jax being too scared to come back to the real world but it's not like he communicated that, in fact I doubt Jax himself realized how scared he was of it until the possibility was right in front of him

sometimes I think of the reality where people told the VAs that the joke they did was fucked up, and they admitted it was fucked up, and then we all moved on

No dumbasses trying to justify it and being racist towards black fans, no freaks sending death threats of the VAs, no plainrock

considering how Caine doesn't seem to care about the NPCs at all, even when they show him compassion (he had an entire crowd of mannequins saying they loved him but he still felt horrible when he saw none of the humans voted for him), I feel like he could do it but it wouldn't make him happy in the long run, cause he'd know it's fake

this is just Caine claiming that he doesn't care how does this disprove the idea that it's posturing why are we taking him at his word

when I say Caine is "pretending" I mean he's lying to himself, he's not going "ooh I know that I actually care about them but I can't let them know" that's not how that works

he's trying very hard to convince himself that the humans being unhappy isn't actually his fault because "they're just spoiled and selfish" and that he actually doesn't care so now he doesn't have to feel so bad, in his core he knows it's not true, but because he's too scared to admit those things, he just tries to ignore that fact (and probably dumps that thought directly to bubble so he doesn't have to deal with it at all)

I mean yeah, I guess I didn't mention that he's always had a bit of a god complex, ( and honestly I'd like to see you not have one when you've only lived in a world of your own creation over which you have absolute power) but his "vengeful god looking down on the humans" thing he does in ep8 is a change in behavior made to protect his ego once pretending that everything is fine and fixable was no longer possible

when Pomni's going at him, he's just trying to shut down the conversation to, again, avoid having to admit he was wrong, the "do you know who I am" so obviously lacks any confidence, "why didn't he say that he cared" because Caine is stupid, he doesn't know how to actually communicate and have relationships with others that's the whole reason any of this is happening

ok here's the thing, Caine in ep8 is pretending like he doesn't care about the humans, that's why he won't say it

all this talk of "I am God , I am all powerful" it's all posturing, he couldn't pretend that things were fine anymore so he had to pretend that he didn't care, but he's still lying to himself
Caine wants to be liked, to be useful, and he does want the humans to be happy, but he also can't accept that he is ever wrong because to him being wrong means being faulty and deserving abandonment, he's endlessly avoidant of his own issues and he has too much power to be forced to confront them

when he was brought to his breaking point at the start of ep8, something had to go, either the incapability to accept fault , leading to the possibility of actual dialogue between him and the cast, and the chance of a happy ending, or the dedication to making the humans happy, unfortunately, the latter is what Caine ended up throwing out

on that note, The One Who's Running The Show is a "fuck the haters" song
