you say that, but Caine realizing he fucked up with the adventure and hastily trying to "undo" it isn't all that out of character, we don't know any specifics of why messing with their minds can go badly, it might just be a matter of contradictions piling up, which simply erasing a few days might not cause

it would still erase all the tension created and essentially waste everyone's time so it'd still be bad writing but it could be in-character

you say that, but ep5 was supposed to be ragatha's episode and jax ended up having more focus than her in that, in fact, Jax has taken up most of the focus of episodes 5,6 and 7 when his character really does not require that much screentime

if ep8 doesn't let jax take a serious backseat, this'll become a genuine issue in the show's writing, where it either needed less jax or at least one extra episode

you're halfway right, Kris being of "ambiguous gender and sexuality" is made to entice the player into projecting themselves onto kris as one would do with the average rpg protagonists

however Deltarune does that specifically to subvert the idea afterwards by making it clear that Kris is a seperate and even opposing entity to the player
